Enormous villa with fabulous pool and garden.

The villa is enormous, with very good accommodation, the beds are comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped. The pool is a good size and depth for all of us to enjoy and garden is beautiful and well maintained. Only half the sockets and lights work in the villa, so no lighting up the driveway, at the front door or in the hallway. So we all felt the villa needs a bit of updating. Overall this is a great villa with fabulous accommodation for a large group of all ages. There’s a lovely restaurant opposite and beautiful beaches which are an easy walk away.

Eine sehr schöne, sehr geräumige Villa mit viel Atmosphäre und einem riesigen, top gepflegten Garten und großem Pool. Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet und die Betten bequem. Mückenschutz an wenigstens einem der Schlafzimmerfenster wäre eine prima Ergänzung.

Fijne familievakantie met mooi uitzicht

Wij beleefden hier de charme van een oude villa. Prachtig uitzicht op de omgeving inclusief de zee. Mooi groen gras en een heerlijk zwembad. Fijn dat we allemaal een eigen kamer met badkamer hadden (alle 4 de slaapkamers gebruikt). Contact met eigenaar en manager liep perfect.

Schöne Finca am Tag, bei Nacht sehr dunkel.

Die Finca hat allgemein eine super Lage. Vom Garten mit Blick aufs Meer und Top gepflegten Garten. 10min mit dem Auto zum nächsten Lebensmittelladen. 15min zu fuß zum Meer. Direkt gegenüber ist ein Restaurant von welchem man leider direkt auf den Garten und Pool schauen kann. Bei Nacht war das schöne Anwesen komplett dunkel / unbeleuchtet. Keine Garten oder Poolbeleuchtung. Ansonsten ist die Finca mehr als ausreichend mit Gläser, Teller, Besteck oder Pfannen etc. ausgestattet. Allgemein empfehlen wir die Finca auf alle Fälle.

We really enjoyed our stay at the villa. The house is even better than the listing suggests. It is a lovely, older style and the location is great. It was the perfect location for our family to enjoy some vacation time together. My only suggestion is that it would be nice if there were a few supplies when we arrived, perhaps left over from previous guests. We had to buy garbage bags, toilet paper, dish soap, even salt and pepper immediately upon arrival. Otherwise, a great stay.

Wir ( 5 Herren ) haben eine Woche Auszeit in dieser herrlichen Finca genossen. Überrascht von einem riesigen Anwesen mit herrlichem Pool, großer Terrasse, extra Grillplatz mit Sitzmöglichkeiten und großem Parkplatz für unser Auto, betraten wir voller Vorfreude das Haus. Und auch hier: Viel Platz, in jedem Schlafzimmer ein Bad, eine große Küche und eine tolle Aussicht. Wir haben diese sehr genossen und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

tolles haus!! es bietet alles was das herz begehrt. als wir ankamen waren wir positiv überrascht von der grösse und auch die verspielte bauart des hauses. grosszügige schlafzimmer, grosse küche, kombiniert mit sep. waschküche. der garten ist top gepflegt. der pool wurde jeden tag benützt und ist auch gepflegt und sauber. peeerfektes personal!!! vermieter und auch die unterhaltskräfte sind top professionell, sehr flexibel und freundlich. wir bedanken uns für dieses unvergessliche erlebnis freundliche grüsse

A slice of paradise

Beautiful, comfortable villa. Enjoyed lots of meals on the terrace overlooking the pool area. It's a really special place with thoughtful and authentic decor. The property was very well looked after while we were there by Susannah who cleaned and the gardener and pool guy. We didn't hire a car and managed just fine with Ubers. The pool is a good size. The gardens provide lots of privacy. The beds are comfortable but if we had one very minor improvement to suggest it's that the pillows could do with an upgrade. Other than that, an absolute gem of a place which we'd recommend in a heartbeat.

Lovely Villa but spoiled by lack of supplies

The garden and pool were beautiful. The house was very spacious and of a more traditional design. The bathrooms, whilst functional do need to be refurbished (cracked tiles & vanity top, discolored enamel in bath, etc). In addition, the kitchen is tiny for such a large house and would make preparing dinner for 8 people (the max number for the house) difficult. However, for us the biggest negative was the complete lack of any supplies in the the villa. There was no welcome basket, which we were told to expect, or any of the usual helpful additions in the kitchen (ex: salt & pepper, coffee filters, matches, trash bags etc). When we asked, the reason given was Covid. For a 9 day stay we had to buy all the essentials. This is the first time I have ever stayed in a rental where the toilet rolls were partially used (one with only a few sheets left) and was told when they were finished we had to buy our own. Even more surprising was the complete lack of disinfecting household cleaner - surely a necessity in times of Covid. Having to buy all these supplies was time consuming and wasteful.

Heerlijk verblijf

We hebben een heerlijk verblijf gehad in deze prachtige woning. Voldoende ruimte voor onze familie van 6 personen. Kleine minpunten waren het ontbreken van een douchegordijn op de 1e verdieping, het ontbreken van buitenverlichting en het klemmen van de slaapkamerdeur op de beganegrond. Kleine zaken die de verhuurder vast snel verhelpt.

A wonderful setting

We were a family group across three generations and spent the week together in this lovely home. Exceptional overall - it is the combination that makes it so: the proximity to incredible beaches (walking distance although cold water!), beautiful grounds, a truly wonderful swimming pool, and a majestic, tranquil and yet simple house. Important to respect that this is an older, stately house - not a modern property and that it has its limits in terms of for e.g. internet and some facilities ... but if you want peace, privacy and serenity with real beauty mixed in - then this is a truly wonderful option!

Entspannter Urlaub mit Meerblick

Wir waren zwei Wochen mit zwei Familien in dem Haus und haben uns dort sehr wohlgefühlt! Die Kommunikation im Vorfeld verlief reibungslos, die Anfahrt von Faro in 45 Minuten ist kaum der Rede wert. Das Anwesen bietet innen wie außen sehr viel Platz, Sonnenanbeter finden genügend Liegen, aber auch schattige Plätze unter den alten Bäumen. Zimmer und Bäder sind funktional eingerichtet, ein Duschbad ist wohl relativ neu, die übrigen schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Die fehlende Klimaanlage war schon ein Manko dahingehend, dass zwar abends ein schöner Durchzug möglich war mit der entsprechenden Abkühlung, aber dafür auch Heerscharen von Mücken die Zimmer bevölkerten... Fenster auf = kühl und Mücken Fenster zu = heiss und wenig Mücken Hier sollte von Seiten des Eigentümers mal über eine Investition nachgedacht werden. Weil ansonsten war der Urlaub einfach grossartig, die Lage ist perfekt für Ausflüge zu den umgebenden Buchten und Stränden. Man kann aber auch den ganzen Tag nur im Haus faulenzen, ein großer Supermarkt ist nur 8 Minuten mit dem Auto entfernt, und man kann schöne Grillabende mit dem großen Grill veranstalten (die Sitzecke am Barbeque sollte nur auch mal gereinigt werden...). Womit ich zum letzten Kritikpunkt komme: Es ist zwar schön, wenn 3 mal in der Woche geputzt wird, aber noch schöner wäre es, wenn es danach auch sauberer wäre... Zwei Frauen können nicht in 45 Minuten ein 350 qm Haus putzen, und dementsprechend hatten wir den Eindruck, dass Haarbüschel u.ä. nur von einer Ecke in die andere gewischt wurden. Wären Putzutensilien vorhanden gewesen, hätten wir mit Sicherheit zwischendurch selbst Hand angelegt... Aber das soll den insgesamt guten Eindruck des Hauses nicht schmälern, wie gesagt, wir fühlten uns wohl und konnten gut relaxen, und das ist das Wichtigste im Urlaub. Vielen Dank, und wir würden wieder buchen!

Our stay in Lagoa

The villa is beautiful, spacious and comfortable. It has really lovely and traditional ornaments and decorations which make it feel homely and cosy. The garden is fabulous and the pool is great. We cooked a few nights at home and although the cooking area in the kitchen is not very big, everything you need is there and there is a very big dining table indoors and also outdoors. The BBQ area is also very nice. The villa is located in a quiet area but restaurants and beaches are at walking distance. All in all a beautiful stay and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Magic

The Quinta do Silencio is an absolutely stunningly beautiful, charming villa with lots of space for everybody to relax. We were a group of 7 people and loved to cook, hang out by the pool and just sit around and take in the most beautiful landscape, the ocean in the distance and wonderfull sunsets and sunrises. The villa is a 14-minute walk away from one of the most beautiful beaches in the Algarve (Marinha), we always went there in the morning, when it was empty and calm. In the afternoon the beaches get very full. By noon we were back in our beautiful, private garden. It's overall very quiet. The wild dogs just came to drink from the pool but otherwise completely ignored us. We can warmly recommend this place.

Fantastic family holiday in a lovely villa

We had a very relaxing two weeks at the wonderful Quinta do Silencio. The villa is spacious and clean and although there is no air conditioning there are shutters at every window & the inside can be kept comfortably cool even on hot days. There are fans for all the bedrooms at night . The gardens and pool area are exceptional, spacious and well maintained, the pool itself is very large and has the sun all day. The table tennis was fantastic, a really good quality table in a good position, it was used every day! The maids provided a good service and were friendly, Celeste, the property manager visited and was very helpful when we needed her (only once during our stay). The location is good, close to Benagil & Praia da Marina beaches which are only a 10-15 min walk away. We dined at Rustico & O’Algar restaurants, good meals at both. Carvoeiro Intermarché is only a 5 minute drive away so handy to stock up. Really the only improvement would be perhaps some light perimeter fencing to stop local dogs coming into the gardens, 3 of them were quite large & although wondered off quickly if you approached, looked a little menacing which wasn’t a problem for us as we have older children, it may be off putting for younger children though. The villa is quite well hidden from the road with moderately high walls & bushes/ trees and a lockable gate at the drive entrance. We had a wonderful 2 weeks, thank you Magui for your help leading up to our stay and your prompt responses to any queries we had. We would highly recommend this villa for a family holiday.

A great vacation

We had a lovely time in this castle! The place is bigger and better than it seems like in the pictures. Everything was really clean and the garden was green and taken good care of. Comfortable sunbeds and big, clean pool. Walking distance to several restaurants and beaches. We enjoyed every second of this holiday and would love to go back one day.
