About this property

Saxon House, Harome, North York Moors

Located in the sought after North Yorkshire village of Harome, Saxon House is a traditional yet modern dog friendly detached house sleeping nine guests in five delightful bedrooms. The main house also has an additional external annexe for a little more privacy. This beautifully appointed stone house benefits from having two very good restaurants right on the doorstep.

Arranged over two floors, the main house is spacious and well laid out, with a large triple aspect sitting room featuring a wood burning stove and french doors leading out to the garden. The well equipped open-plan kitchen with electric range cooker, marble worktops leads to the dining area, and a seating area for up to eight guests overlooking the garden. Upstairs on the first floor, four bright and airy bedrooms are presented; a king-size master bedroom with en-suite shower room, a small double, a twin and a king-size. Inviting and comfortable, you will look forward to retiring to bed after a full day exploring the North Yorkshire. These rooms are served by a family bathroom with bath and separate shower.

The convenient, self-contained annexe sits proudly at the bottom of the garden. Entered via the french doors you are welcomed into the open-plan living area. The delightful and well equipped kitchen offers seating for two guests with garden views to enjoy whilst having a morning cuppa. The spacious bedroom has a zip and link super-king size bed (that can be converted as twin single beds on request), and is served by a modern en suite shower room with a double walk-in shower. This accommodation is ideal for guests who prefer a little more peace and quiet, whilst still being able to enjoy a break away with family and friends.

Facing south, the generous garden to the rear of Saxon House is edged with luscious boarders that lead to the side of the garden. Featuring a patio table and chairs, this is a lovely spot for guests to share in alfresco dining during the summer months.

Harome is a very attractive village with pretty cottages, many of which are thatched, a church and two renowned restaurants. The Pheasant is a 3 Rosette awarded restaurant, and Michelin star The Star Inn at Harome serves modern Yorkshire food to the highest of standards.

For smaller groups, Saxon House is available to book with the outdoor annexe closed off, listed as Saxon House (7)
