Family Lourmarin vacation

We stayed at this property in October and decided to come back in June, in October the outdoor area was nor very clean and all the furniture was dirty. We were told it was the end of a busy season and next year when we come it we be all cleaned and ready for this season. I think the owners forgot to clean the furniture and the outside area. I found 4 pieces of small glass in the outdoor carpet, The exterior pool area has a lot wasps and 3 children and 1 adult were stung. The kitchen could use new pots and not the old Teflon pots. However the Property is located in an excellent location and the property manger Alex was excellent and responded immediately when contacted.

The photos (3-4 years old) of this property give the impression that it is immaculate. It was not. The white drapes that hang in the pool picture are long gone with only remnants remaining, the patio furniture was filthy, as were the outdoor cushions for the dining table and loungers. The outdoor carpet was so dirty, we rolled it up and put it to one side, preferring not to walk on it with bare feet. None of the lights above the mirrors worked, all were disconnected not meeting French safety standards. Broken drain covers in showers, broken parasol base being weighed down by a pot and now a home for wasps, the list goes on.The electricity kept tripping out, as a result of a faulty oven, a faulty toaster and a gas changeover switch that didn’t work. All credit to the agent, Alex, without whose support, this would have been a nightmare rental.Things were so bad after the first week that I spoke with the owner about our issues. He said he would reflect and get back to me - that was over 4 weeks ago and nothing. It was the owner who had been in the property immediately before us. They had left the house presumably thinking everything was acceptable, reinforcing how low the owners standards are. If you are charging top dollar, and they are, you expect much higher standard. These are not issues that an agent can resolve in a 6 hour cleaning turnaround. It is much more fundamental than that.On the plus side, the house is well equipped and in a fantastic location.

Wonderful getaway near the most beautiful village

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Maison St André. The hosts were super accommodating and check in/out was smooth and easy. The beds were incredibly comfortable too (Something that can make or break your holiday) and the house was very well equipped. The only suggestion I would make is to adjust the number of minutes it takes to walk to the village centre. The village isn't very far but in the scorching summer heat, it does take somewhat longer. This is not helped by the fact that google maps places the house much closer than it is in reality (not the owner's fault obviously) but this also means that it is similarly mislocated on VRBO's map which probably feeds from google. Nonetheless, I can wholeheartedly recommend a stay in this house.
