About this property
Romantic Pigeonnier with private and secluded pool - just for two!
The Pigeonnier - our little Pidge - is perfect for two people who want to spend time in a beautiful and romantic setting.
It's quiet, secluded and yet there's loads to do - all within half an hour's drive.
Step through the front door and you enter the open plan lounge, kitchen and dining room. There are stone walls, original features, comfortable sofas and a wood burner if you sre staying early or late season - the Pidge has central heating too!
The kitchen is fully equipped with a range style cooker, fridge freezer and dishwasher. A family bathroom completes the inside space on the ground floor.
Out through the French doors you will find your personal swimming pool and patio area.
There's a beautiful and large raised terrasse with sofas, barbeque and a dining table... and then there's the pool.
Sparkling blue and encircled by a laurel hedge, the pool is your domain. You will be entirely private and can sunbathe and swim to your heart's content.
Back in the house and up the stairs you will find a double bedroom on the mezzanine - in the tower of the pigeonnier itself. It's just made for romance!
As you can tell, we love our little Pidge and want to share it with as many people as possible. If you're looking for some time to re-charge your batteries, soaking in the atmosphere of South West France, then the Pidge could be just the place to do it.

About the host
Hosted by Renee Mackay

Hello, I'm Renee and I'm very pleased to meet you.
I moved to Fon du Bourg in August 2022. Before that was living in my native Edinburgh but dreaming of my new life in France.
My brother has been here for more than forty years and my french family has been growing over recent years and I wanted to be closer to them. My husband's (Richard) daughter moved to Paris a couple of years ago, too.
To be entirely honest with you, although we looked at more properties after seeing Fon du Bourg there was really no point - I fell in love with the place within about fifteen seconds... not very logical for an ex-accountant, I know, but I couldn't help myself. And it was the first property we saw!
I can honestly say without a word of a lie that I really am now living my dream life. Don't get me wrong, it's hard work - there's only two of us with two acres of garden and three pools to look after as well as the three properties and we're learning all the time but there's just something about this place that calms the soul.
I do pinch myself fairly regularly to make sure I'm still in the real world - which so far has been the case.
Our move from Edinburgh in July of 2022 was a huge step. We sold our business in May, booked our visa appointment and moved less than two months later. We ran our business for twelve years and we loved it. It was very hard work, though and we knew that we had a limited amount of shelf life. The sale went through at the perfect time for us.
I have to say Richard is not the most practical of people but he's learning every day - both how to decorate and to speak french.
Me?
I'm learning about the garden and to speak french, too!
So, that's me in a nutshell. Life here is wonderful - come and stay with us and you may just find your little corner of Heaven on Earth too!

Why they chose this property
We love our little 'Pidge'.
It's unique - a property made just for two with a private pool surrounded by a laurel hedge. The moment you arrive you'll realise this is your domain and you can go out or stay at home as much as you like.
The pool and terrace is south facing, the mezzanine bedroom is beautifully cool after the heat of the day and the raised terrace is made for al fresco dining.
The Pidge is a little piece of paradise in the heart of the french countryside.
