A fabulously quiet paradise situated on a working farm Castleton

From your doorstep you can take the footpath directly to Lose Hill and Great Ridge, enjoy spectacular views over the Edale Valley to the famous Kinder Scout. The Hope Valley is an ideal base for exploring the treasures of the Peak District.
In addition to the wonderful scenery, there are numerous attractions including nearby Castleton caves and castle, a short drive to Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and the plague village of Eyam. If you have any energy left after walking the hills, the Hope Valley offers climbing, cycling, pony trekking, swimming, angling, gliding and parascending. Or why not just relax!

We have farmed at Riding House for over 40 years. Denise and David are the modern day Shepherd and Milkmaid! If needed, they will be on hand to help you make the most of your stay in the Peak District National Park

Why they chose this property

Shepherd’s Cottage is a 5 star cottage with two bedrooms, one double and one twin. There are two bathrooms. It is ideal for four people. Many of the original old beams still feature in the cottage. Shepherd's is furnished and equipped to an high standard with careful attention to detail to make your stay memorable. Shepherd's cottage has full central heating and double glazing, two bathrooms: one upstairs with a bath, basin and WC, and a downstairs shower room with basin and WC. With TV, CD, DVD, and free-
sat Wi-Fi in the cosy sitting room and oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer in the kitchen areas, everything is provided for you. There is also an adjacent laundry room with a washing machine and tumble dryer for your free use. Outside is your private parking area for up to 3 cars with seating to enjoy a barbecue and drink, enjoying the view across the valley.
