We enjoyed our stay at Beili Stable, it was spacious, well equiped and gave us the country tranquility we were seeking. The views from the cottage were marvellous and it was well located for exploring the area around Monmouth and Abergavenny.
A lovely property that was perfect for our family. The location is brilliant and the place is very well equipped. The bedrooms are great, and you'll have an excellent nights sleep!
We stayed over Christmas and the cottage was nicely decorated for our arrival. Lovely location - we missed out on the view a little due to fog so perhaps we’ll have to come back on the summer!

A lovely family who left the cottage very clean and tidy.
We had a really lovely stay at Beili Stable. The accommodation exceeded expectations and was spacious and cosy and very well equipped. David was attentive and welcoming. We explored the area and thoroughly enjoyed our break.
The owner (David) is very friendly and helpful.
The accomodation is on a farm, about 5 miles drivefrom Monmouth, and is comfortable, clean and well-equipped. We were very satisfied with our holiiday choice.
Everything about this location is wonderful. From the size, cleanliness and furnishings on the inside to the lovely Welsh countryside and proximity to major routes and facilities (groceries, etc) on the outside.

David the owner was very welcoming. Cottage was spacious and clean.
The courtyard patio area was perfect, totally dog proof.
Just a perfect get away from it all.
Sheila & Peter.
The cottage was well equipped and the beds very comfortable.Dave was very accommodating and supplied us with fresh bedding and towels etc every week. You also have access to some great walks and the view were amazing. Thank you
A beautifully renovated property which was spotlessly clean and well equipped.
Seamless check in and out with ample parking spaces.
One tiny negative - the only "view" directly from the barn was from the front window and the yard as the pario area is fully enclosed but gets the sun as is south west facing.

Delightful 'stable' complete with 'manger'!
So comfortable and warm, every need provided for. Perfect to come 'home' to after tramping the mountains and woods. We were so lucky with the weather ) Oct!) with some wonderful morning mists making fantastic photo opportunities. Our hosts could not have been kinder or more obliging - to be honest, that log burner was not really necessary - but visually, such a comfort. Thank you, Cathy and Dave.

We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay at Penylan Farm and glad the weather was kind to you. It was a pleasure to meet you all and hopefully see you again some time. Cathy and Dave
On arrival the weather was awful, but the sight of our beautiful little cottage was wonderful.. very spacious and good size bedrooms, both with en suite. The kitchen was lovely and had all we needed. A lovely little treat was waiting for us too..The outside courtyard was perfect for oiur dog and there is a raised grass area. Just a note to say that there is a gate to separate the raised grass area , be warned the drop down to the path is quite high so dont leave your dog or children unattended... The lounge area was so comfy and the added little gem of a log burner didnt disappoint. The underfloor heating was a lovely touch and welcomed after a wet day out exploring. David was very helpful and was on hand if we needed him..Such a lovely hidden gem that we will most definitely be coming back too.
This property did not disappoint. It has been beautifully renovated and is well appointed for a comfortable stay. There are many lovely local towns and attractions which are within easy access; there is definitely plenty for all ages and interests.

Hi Margaret,
I’m so pleased you enjoyed your stay in Beili Stable and the surrounding area.
Hope to meet you again some time.
Best wishes,
Cathy
The cottage is on a working farm located between Monmouth and Abergavenny. There are many places to visit including several local castles, the Wye Valley and more local rivers. The cottage itself has all modern amenities and is very comfortable.
The owners were very obliging in giving us easy access to a power socket for charging our electric car.
Lovely, clean and spacious cottage with all mod cons. Cathy was very helpful and helped us in terms of suggesting things to do and take aways. Had one of the best take away Indian meals for a long time at the Jewel Balti in Monmouth and the Queen's chippy is also great. both within a few miles. Kayaking/canoeing is a must, we used LeftBankCanoe. Lovely walks straight from the cottage, but do beware if using OS map as the gates and styles are not being maintained and we had to turn and deviate a few times. Might be an idea to search for known routes online nearby.

Cottage very comfortable and clean. Owners very friendly and welcoming. The area is spectacular and we were out all day every day exploring. Lots to see and do would highly recommend for time away from it all.

We started self catering at Penylan Farm to open up our beautiful part of the world with visitors aiming to make them feel as at home and at peace here as we do.
We do our best to make your visit one to remember, providing local knowledge on great places to visit, tourist attractions and seasonal events, and of course the best places to eat.
Monmouthshire has recently been named the top food destination in Wales, with friendly local hostelries and Michelin starred restaurants. We’ll point you towards great locale produce and Dave will happily explain his approach to sustainable farming and biodiversity.
Why they chose this property
Penylan Farm enjoys a hilltop setting atop of the beautiful Monmouthshire countryside. We are just 5 miles from the medieval market town of Monmouth, birth place of Henry V and are nestled between Abergavenny, the Wye Valley, Forest of Dean, Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains.
On our immediate doorstep is the historic Hendre Estate which was the family home the Rolls family (of Rolls-Royce fame). Local footpaths connect to Offa’s Dyke or you can follow one of our own custom designed walks from the farm exploring the history of The Rolls Family.
Once you have recharged your batteries there are plenty of local activities to keep you going including water sports on the River Wye (voted the public’s favourite river in England and Wales) and cycling in the Forest of Dean, or along the ‘Peregrine Trail’ following the Wye to Symonds Yat. We have done the leg-work for you, find something for everyone, at any pace, at any point of the year, just ask us for tips.
What makes this property unique
Escape the hustle and enjoy Penylan’s more gentle pace of life, in one of our three charming self catering cottages. Spend your holiday on our farm in unspoilt hilltop tranquility, ten minutes from the historic market town of Monmouth. Awake to the sound of the bird song, take in the fresh welsh air and enjoy wonderful local walks and panoramic views from our small working farm focussed on environmental stewardship.
