The cabin was perfect for us. It was so peaceful and beautiful. It had so many original things from the home and so much reading about the local history. We stayed there for our wedding and couldnt have asked for more.
A Cabin Away from It All, Yet Close Enough to Town
It is a quaint little rustic cabin tucked away in the woods. The deck is lovely spot to spend a morning drinking some coffee and watching the variety of birds that fly by. I had an issue with my truck and was able to quickly communicate with John about staying an extra day and even getting to check out a little later, closer to when my truck would be fixed.Definitely recommend staying here!
Rented this beautiful little house to celebrate my Mom and Sisters Birthdays and had a wonderful time, nice patio to lounge on and we had a bbq as well.Close to town which is also a plus would stay here again.

Amazing step back in time but still with all the modern amenities. Gread deck to sit on and watch the wild life. We've been coming to Julian for at least 20 years to visit our daughter and stayed at so many different places in and around Julian. This has been our favorite so far and plan to keep coming back to this cabin.
A cozy and clean cabin in a beautiful setting. We were especially surprised and delighted to experience a gorgeous snowfall.
The owner thoughtfully sent us an email tip on where to park so we didn't get stuck in the snow.
We would be happy to return some day.
we love this cozy little cabin in the mountains as this was our 2nd year coming to post Christmas with our family. Great place to getaway from it all and unwind. We did daily hikes behind the house and would just follow the deer trails. the kids loved the alexa and the record player and all the games the house had for us to use. the kitchen is more than adequate and the bathroom is nice. We'll be back again next year for sure!

Thank you for the nice review on our cabin in Julian. We bought the house since we love the pines and oaks so much and then saw all the wildlife like deer, turkey and squirrels and much more. So glad you enjoyed them too!
We loved our stay at the cabin! It was as depicted in the listing. If you are looking for a cozy, rustic vibe, this is your place! It's super close to town, but just secluded enough to appreciate being in the mountains among the tall trees. It's also a 'designated dark sky' area (which I had never heard of before) so it's REALLY dark at night, but you can really see all the stars in the skies, which is very cool! The listing said that there were lots of stairs, and that was true. I have a disability and use a walker and/or cane and we managed it OK, but if you don't have great mobility, pay attention to the listing. Once inside there is no problem at all.Our host, John, gave us all the info we needed prior to getting there, and he was easily accessible via email if we had any questions. We had a wonderful time, in a beautiful, peaceful setting that was so relaxing for our 30th anniversary and Christmas. We've been to Julian quite a few times before, but never during the holidays. It was very busy and lots of people, but since we had been before, we weren't too concerned about seeing the town as much as having a relaxing vacation. We visited Ca Mountain Bakery for a (huge) sandwich and equally huge breakfast croissant which was yummy! Heroes for a pizza. And Moms Pies and Dudleys Bakery for pies and bread to bring home. There is also a produce stand on I78 by the SD Animal Safari that we have to stop at every time.So 8 days in the mountains was a great re-charge!

It was a cute cabin but too small. The picture online was different than the site. We had a good time but won’t be back.
