Really enjoyed the house. It was very comfy with every detail taken care of! Bed was great very comfortable which was really good because it was a full size not a Queen size as reported. Which was our only real disappointment. Great shower, heater, and nightlights! Thanks for such a great experience!
This apartment worked perfectly for me and my cello as we attended Summerkeys. It is a short walk to all the places where my lessons/rehearsals were held. The apartment is comfortable, light and airy. While the owner is in the process of updating the space, the bathroom and kitchen worked well, and the living area has comfortable seating for reading in the evenings.

Adequate but needs some attention
It was clean. Having kitchen facilities and a washer and dryer were great. However, there was no note with a name and address to contact to say I’d arrived or to call if I had a problem. Or what to do with trash. And for some reason this app wasn’t responding.
Things needed: smoke alarm and window repairs. No smoke alarm. Is that even legal?Only 4 windows had screens and they all had to be propped open with a piece of wood. At least one window shows signs of breaking apart. Many neighbors are having their windows replaced, so there are businesses capable of doing this.

Expected rustic, not indoor camping with multiple fire hazards
We arrived at the residence 3am due to traffic and weather. Building was not with number on it so that made it difficult to find especially in the dark. No outside or inside lights were on either. Once inside we discovered the thermostat does not work and the owner had in her directions to us told us to use the space heaters provided. We plugged in and turned on the living room space heater and put our food in the refrigerator. Within 10 minutes the power went off in the kitchen. We opened the refrigerator and noted there was no power to the refrigerator plus we then saw it was not plugged in to any outlet. The only working outlet for the fridge was just outside the bedroom next to the kitchen. We moved the fridge there, plugged it in and went to sleep in the bed, exhausted after the 8 hour drive there. We also unplugged the space heater. Of note the residence was in major disrepair. Ceiling light in the bedroom was hanging by the electric wire. Bedroom closet doors falling off the tracks and the closet knobs coming off in our hands when we tried to open them. Upon contact with the owner later in the morning - as we did not attempt contact till a reasonable hour that morning-and in subsequent contacts for repeat power outage leaving us without lights/heat, we were repeatedly lectured about not having multiple appliances on as this she was sure was the cause of the breakers going offline and leaving us without power or heat. We in turn repeatedly told her this was not the case as we were not running multiple major appliances.
The owner then blamed the tenant on the other side of the building for this problem, although the tenant was out and not running multiple appliances per her own report. The owner did have her property manager get the power back on, but then was of the bizarre belief that we had brought our own refrigerator to the property. We repeatedly told her that we did no such thing and that we arrived in a SUV - no ability to bring a fridge in that!
The last straw was when we told the owner that it was cold and dark in the unit to which she asked “is it really dark there at 5pm?” We replied that for the rate paid/night we expected light and heat. I am in my 70’s and my wife in her 60’s. I do not believe having light and/or heat is unreasonable.
We called the town building inspector who came out and was there for at least an hour due to the numerous hazards. We can attach his letter to the owner to this review…
Overall we had a lovely stay and the house is right in the downtown of tiny Lubec - a few minutes walk to the ocean and Lubec is charming and quiet and everyone we met was very open and friendly. The rental is one half of the downstairs of an old (late 1800s?) home so it has lots of charm. It was plenty big for my husband and myself and our daughter. And it is a great value!
We would be comfortable coming back to rent another time. Everything in town is within a short walk, the location is bright and sunny. The property is nicely maintained for a structure being updated. A charming little place filling our needs for the week.
We had a wonderful experience at Jameelah's rental! The house has a quirky layout that only adds to its charm and it was more spacious than we were expecting, and quite clean. It's a 10-minute walk from the beach and only about a 5-minute walk from both the main street in town and the grocery store. And yes--you can see the ocean from the front of the house! It's a beautiful view. Jameelah was also super responsive to the few questions we asked her, and the property caretaker lives down the street and was available for any help we needed, as well. Lubec is such a beautiful little town and it was the perfect place to hide out from the pandemic (after making sure we tested negative, of course). We can't wait to go back and stay at Jameelah's again!
We very much enjoyed our stay here -- everything was clean and comfortable. (The prior review of it being dark and drab is utter madness - There were plenty of windows and light!)
Very convenient to downtown Lubec with the few restaurants there being within easy walking distance.
The parlor off of the bed room with all of the art was a delightful place to sit and read in the evening and my wife very much enjoyed the art magazines provided.
The wi-fi (info provided on fridge) was extremely fast and reliable.
The kitchen is probably better suited for 1 when cooking but definitely good enough for a vacation rental. The bathroom is large and well-stocked with towels and supplies.
Sitting up on the hill behind the house during the evening was lovely -- very quiet and so many stars. Oceanview may be a bit of a stretch -- you can see it, but it's definitely not like sitting by the water. But when you can be to the water in 5 minutes, it's definitely not a big deal.
The temperature was perfectly fine in the apartment during the mud-August nights.
Should we ever happen to find our way to Lubec again, we would absolutely stay here again.
This property was pretty much as advertised. However, I did not see any chairs behind the property to have a nice view of the water. The back yard was tiny and I could not figure out where this picture was taken. The location was excellent and everyone I met there was very helpful. It was just me, so there was plenty of room. It was clean and nicely furnished. I would recommend this for 2 people.
Great location for Bay of Fundy International Marathon
We were in town for the marathon and the house is perfectly situated for the race and restaurants in town.
The apartment has all the supplies you'd expect and need.
If I could recommend one change it would be an upgrade to sheets and pillows. Also perhaps to turn the heating on when guests are going to arrive in cooler weather.
The house looks a little unfinished from the outside, but all in all we were very happy.

not happy
Property was not as I felt it was advertised, very small, dark and dreary. The second bed was a solid hard small futon couch that folded flat, couldn't find the linen and my sister that was traveling with me was adamant that we were not staying there. Notified the owner, she was very pleasant though. This was my first time doing VRBO and probably won't do again, as this was not a happy experience, not to mention expensive and had to find last minute accommodations.

Nice clean side suite
Nice convenient location on a main road in Lubec with easy access to bridge to Campobello Island, and all the activities in the area. Only thing was I wished we had WiFi but we choose this suite was because it offered us a way to do laundry. It was nice and quiet and easy to find our way around the area. We spent most of our time at Campobello Island and Roosevelt Park with dinner at the Wharf Inn in Lubec.

Quiet, Convenient, Clean
I stayed here with my college-age daughter for two nights in July 2018. We used this as a jumping-off spot for exploring nearby lighthouses, hiking, and boating. I couldn't have asked for a better location--we could walk to the restaurants and shops in Lubec, and it was a five minute drive to Campobello with all its beautiful trails and interesting history. The apartment was very clean and had every amenity we needed for simple meal preparation. The host was delightful, too! She had many excellent recommendations for things to do.

Ample space!
A lovely apartment. The washer and dryer were a plus. I thought the bed was a bit too firm for my liking, but a great place. Very close to the beach, just two blocks from SummerKeys. Jameelah graciously helped me figure out how to book last minute with credit card and was a wonderful person to rent from. Easy check in and check out. The upstairs folks wake up around 5:30am, they’re not loud but sounds of footsteps and such did wake me up once or twice-something to be aware of if you are a light sleeper. I hope I can come back next year and stay here again. Very reasonable prices for a large private space.

Very uncomfortable bed, said room for 4 but they better be small 4
First thing when we got there the owner called us and said she has been calling my aunt to see where I was. No such person existed
The bed was slanted down hill and a full size very uncomfortable
I had my daughter and her husband but the sofa was so small my son-in-law slept in the car
We got them a hotel room after 1st night
On a positive note the area was beautiful and the location was great for exploring
I could not find a hairdryer
We would not recommend this place for a family but a young couple without children might like it

An Excellent Walk through the old neighborhood of Maine houses to the wonderful village of Lubec.
We were here for 3 very pleasant days, I wish it had been a week, it was such a wonderful town and area . Our duplex was large and well maintained and so quite.
Our hostess Jameelah, was very gracious and informative and had the duplex well set up. We loved the neighborhood and area so much that we want to buy a home for ourselves.

Great access to the surrounding area!
This is an apartment partitioned from the rest of an older home. The owner is making improvements and the kitchen and dining area were completed before our stay. Everything we needed for cooking, laundry and bathing were found.
The location is perfect for access to area activities. There are many things to see and do starting with a short walk to downtown Lubec.
The owner was very concerned with our comfort and accommodated us well !
