Bannerrigg, situated at the far end of The Terrace is a fabulous property for a celebration or extended family getaway. The house has amazing shared spaces, a kitchen with an AGA to warm its heart plus a second dual-fuel range cooker, a large lounge with huge Chesterfield sofas and a dining room that can be extended to seat about 20 guests.

Upstairs Bannerrigg has 5 bedrooms, all with single beds, so no one needs to sleep together unless of course, they want to.

Bannerriggs best kept secret is its 18-seat cinema in the cellar complete with 75inch Smart TV, Going to the movies on holiday is easy, just login to your Netflix or Prime Video account sit back in the real cinema seats and enjoy the show. It's a great rainy day option.

Outside Bannerrigg has a lovely garden which houses a 7 seat hot tub in its own building.

The house also has a 7.5KW EV charger and parking for at least 8 cars.

We welcome up to 4 well-behaved dogs. There is a £30 additional charge per dog, which can be added at check-out.

Beautful house

12 of us stayed here celebrating 3 x 50th birthday's. The house had everything and more that we needed. Located close to the railway station and bus stop made getting around easy. The only downside was the water pressure in the attic shower if others were being used was almost none existent. Lovely relaxing accommodation.

Perfect for a family gathering

A beautiful house to stay in for 9 of us ranging from age 5 to 78. Very clean and came with everything you might need and more. Lovely communal areas and large bedrooms to have some quieter time. Plenty of space but we all still felt ‘together’. Couldn’t find any faults. Booking through to checkout was a very smooth and simple process.

A lovely few days at Bannerrigg

Huge thanks to the hosts! We absolutely loved the house – it was spacious, comfortable, and perfectly equipped for our group of 15. The location is fantastic, and the amenities were great. The hot tub and cinema room were a real bonus and made our stay extra special. We couldn’t have asked for a better place!

Hen do weekend

We stayed here for a hen do weekend and it was absolutely perfect! The house was spotless, beautifully presented, and had everything we needed for a group stay. The communal spaces were great for socialising, and the bedrooms were really comfortable. The location worked really well for us too — easy to get to but still felt private. Our host was fantastic, really responsive and accommodating. Would 100% recommend it for groups looking for a memorable stay.

Great accommodation in fab location

16 of us stayed at the property for a hen weekend and it was perfect for us. We had caterers in for a lovely dinner and we enjoyed running a quiz and photo story on the screen in the cinema room.

Large Group Stay

The house was excellent, very impressive, clean and well equipped. Wish we could have stayed longer. There were 13 of us and there was more than enough room. All bedrooms were clean and comfortable with numerous bathrooms throughout. Kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed. Owners were very helpful and provided us with extra info on where to eat locally. 100% would stop again and recommend to others. It was the perfect stay.

Amazing accommodation for a large group

We loved our stay at Bannerrigg! As a large group travelling from many places, the location was great and easy to get to. Often with accommodation offering many beds, it feels very cramped, but that was not the case at Bannerrigg. We had ample space to socialise, cook, and eat, as well as being well maintained and generally a beautiful property. Andy and Barbara were very responsive to any messages throughout the booking process and during our stay. Would definitely stay again!

A perfect Hen Do!

The house was absolutely perfect for us, each room is spacious and has everything you need. All bedrooms were amazing and pretty much sound proof which is great for a large group. The beds were very comfy and each room had a bathroom or en suite so plenty of toilet/shower space for everyone. The garden and hot tub were brilliant and the cinema room was an amazing end to our weekend. Would definitely recommend this house and would stay again!

Fantastic long weekend

Bannerrigg was the perfect spot for our stay in the Lakes, not only was it incredibly convenient to the town of Winderemere but the house itself had plenty of room with great facilities. We especially enjoyed the hot tub and cinema room, and the owners were very helpful when responding to queries. Would definitely consider staying again!

An amazing surprise 50th birthday!!!

Where do I start ??? this house is amazing and absolutely huge. It is everything you need for big group gatherings of friends or family. We had the most special time surprising our friend for his 50th birthday. There is nothing more we could have wished for the house as everything you need and the cinema room was fantastic and an added bonus of fun along with the hot tub. It was a great find and let us share lots of magical precious memories together. It was spotlessly clean and on the doorstep of beautiful Windermere. Thank you Andy and Barbara for sharing this beautiful place. We would have booked again for next year but already booked up

Cannot recommend enough!

We had a large group staying for the weekend and we had the best time! The location is absolutely brilliant, close to Windermere village with lovely walks straight from the door. The house was so well kitted out, with everything we could possibly have needed. The rooms were so well set up and beds were extremely comfy! The property itself is beautiful! Fantastic weekend away

I cannot recommend Bannerrigg enough! We had an absolutely fantastic weekend and have multiple members of our party looking to book again in the future. The information provided before and during our stay enabled us to organise food delivery, catering and taxis for all of our activities meaning everything ran very smoothly. The amount of space you have for a large group is also fantastic, we never felt cramped or limited on room and the fact that everyone gets their own bed makes for a very comfortable stay. The location is also excellent, very easy access to local shops and restaurants and also to travel to by road or train. I honestly can't fault our experience, thank you so much for having us.

Family weekend

Family gathering to mark our Golden Wedding Year. House was ideal in size and well equipped for all our needs. Teenagers especially enjoyed Xbox in cinema room and the hot tub was well appreciated by all apart from the real oldies. Especially good was the proximity of the property to the town of Windermere which meant we could walk to restaurants etc. Highly recommended

Hen Do of 14

We rented Bannerrigg for a weekend hen do, the house was perfect with large communal spaces for long needed catch-ups as well as eating all together and socialising. We used both the cinema room and hot tub as well, which are amazing. Plenty of room everywhere in the house and enough bathrooms. Everyone slept well and had a lovely stay. Thank you!

Excellent stay during Aug Bank Holiday week

My extended family and I stayed at Bannerrigg during the August Bank Holiday week and had an excellent time! There were 13 of us in total so made full use of all the rooms, beds and facilities available to us. The kids (as well as the grown ups! ) made full use of the Cinema Room, where they spent a couple hours a day watching a movie, or playing on the Switch that we brought along. The location was very good, being in front of the Train Station where Booths was so very handy for buying groceries, as well as the local restaurants and shops 5 mins away. Lake Windermere is about 1.5 miles away which took us around 40 mins to walk down the hill, popping into the shops along the way, but took a bus (£2 per person) back up, stopping at the train station. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Bannerrigg and maybe stay again should the whole family go to Windermere again in the near future.

Why they chose this property

Andrew and Barbara fell in love with Bannerrigg the end house on The Terrace and simply had to buy it when it came on the market. It was a key milestone on their journey to owning the whole street.
