Cabin in Au Train

The cabin was really cute and in an excellent location. The view of the river was very nice. We did some fishing from the dock and caught some small perch and bass. My kids are older teens and loved sleeping in the loft. We really enjoyed sitting out by the river and having a bonfire at night. We were close to all of the major sights in the Pictured Rocks area. The owner was very responsive and very easy to work with. It was a lovely week!

So beautiful!!

Anne is amazing! She is prompt to answering questions and resolving problems. And the place is adorable and the location is amazing. We had so much fun!! There was a plumbing issue but Anne and her husband offered to fix it while we weee there. We declined the offer but I feel confident the problem will be fixed before the next guest stays there. Anne is the most wonderful host I have encountered at a VRBO.

Great week in AuTrain

The lofts were enjoyed by our kids and nephews. Sitting by the fire, enjoying morning coffee on the deck and fishing and kayaking in the river were enjoyed by all. Great location to a beautiful beach with easy access to Munising and Marquette.

Beautiful cabin in perfect location

Our family spent one week at this cabin and loved it. The cabin was in a very quiet location, was extremely clean (even the outhouse), and so close to all the area attractions. The view of the river from the cabin is awesome. We were lucky enough to see eagles, otter, mink, herons, turtles, frogs and many fish! We spent our time hiking to many waterfalls, kayaking right from the cabin (with the kayaks available to rent from owners), fishing from the dock, and visiting the amazing Au Train beach to swim and view the absolutely stunning sunsets. The kids have already asked if we can come back next year. :)

First timers in the UP

We have never been to the UP and wanted to see as much of it as we could in the time we had. This location of the cabin was perfect for us and made it easy to be a comfortable place to come back to after a long day of driving and exploring the UP. Loved the location on the river and proximity to Lake Superior. The accommodations fit our family perfectly and I know they and we will never forget this trip!

Beautiful Cabin in an Excellent Location

We completely enjoyed our stay in this cabin! The hosts were very responsive and welcoming. The wonderful workmanship of the cabin structure as well as the perfect furnishings made the stay comfortable and inspiring. It had everything we needed to sleep comfortably and cook meals together. Looking out the window, we looked right onto the water, enjoying a million dollar view from many parts of the cabin. We enjoyed seeing wildlife the sunrise and the moonrise, as well as reading on the deck or roasting s'mores over the campfire. We rented kayaks from the owners and explored the many water ways. We easily hiked to Scotts Falls, then to Lake Superior to enjoy Au Train beach. In the evenings, we explored the ATV trails or walked into "town" to get an ice cream from the Au Train gas station/grocery. The outhouse is nice but we couldn't imagine having to use it in the wintertime! It was a short run from the cabin if the weather was a bit rainy. We also didn't notice that there is no wifi or cable which was pleasant for family bonding but a bit inconvenient if we wanted to get information about the weather in the area. Overall, this cabin was, by far, one of our favorite places to stay in Au Train, an area we have been visiting for the last 12 years!

Cozy and clean cabin, great location

The cabin was clean, well maintained, and in a quiet area. Check in was a breeze and the owners were easy to work with and responsive. Renting their kayaks for a week was a very good deal. Lots to do in immediate area, kayak or fish in the river, with the beach on Lake Superior just a few minutes walk, drive, or paddle. This location was a great basecamp for exploring Munising, Marquette, Pictured Rocks, etc.

Fantastic Cabin on the River!

Oh my goodness! The view? Amazing! The location? Close to all kinds of hiking, paddling and good eats! The family memories? Priceless! My husband and I stayed here with our adult children and their significant others. Each one of us would return to this cabin! The kitchen had everything we needed. The fire pit is where we cooked several dinners. We saw mink, jumping fish, beautiful sunsets and the moon and stars. We left happy and relaxed.

Peaceful & Beautiful

Absolutely amazing cabin. Speaking with Anne prior to our trip was a breeze. She responded quickly to any questions and made sure we had accurate directions before arriving. The property is obviously lovingly maintained. The flowers and landscaping are really wonderful and had frequent hummingbird visitors. Walking in, I realized that the online photos didn’t do the cabin justice. It’s a charming, historic log cabin with stunning modern updates. It’s definitely cozy but also spacious. We had plenty of room for our family of 4 and our dog. (I loves that we could bring him) The kids really loved the lofts. They used one side to play and the other side to sleep. We chose to sleep in the room facing the river. What a treat. We spent mornings drinking coffee on the deck, watching the loons, geese, cranes and even bald eagles. The kids loves seeing the chipmunks and all of the frogs. We even saw a few snakes. Kayaking on the river was wonderful. It’s really easy to navigate. Fishing was extremely plentiful! Off the dock and in the boat, we all caught small mouth bass, pike, perch and rock bass. We took many day trips. The location of the cabin made it easy to explore Marquette, Munising and everything in between. Sandy beaches were minutes away and we all enjoyed rock combing and swimming. The one thing we (mostly the kids) were worried about was the outhouse. Again, no issues there! It’s clean, close to the house and has a light. Absolutely nothing would stop me from recommending this place to others-except then they would also k ow about this little slice of heaven that we found. I didn’t want to leave! I’d love to return! Endless thanks for sharing your beautiful cabin with us. The Watts Family

Perfect week

Exactly what my family needed. No internet, no iPhones, no tv. We kayaked, fished, ate every meal on the deck, swam in Superior. The cabin was clean, and has everything you need. It was hard to leave! Anne was great to work with. Please stay!!!

Stayed one week, wanted to stay forever

Beautiful cabin with amazing views. The place was decorated impeccable and the setting surreal. They had everything we needed and comfortable beds too The owners were very responsive and met us the first day to show us how to use the gas firepit on the deck, it was beautiful. We also had a fire outside and inside to warm up, it was wonderful. Thanks again, the Jensen's
