This was our second stay at Red Robin. We returned due to the comfort of the house and location for central Keswick. It is also very close to the lovely Fitz Park. We have an older dog so hired a dog buggy from Podgy Paws which enabled us to travel further in the area. Once we have parked the car we leave it for the duration of our stay.

Hi there!
Thank you so much for your lovely review — and for choosing to return to Red Robin for a second stay. That really does mean a lot to us.
We’re delighted to hear the comfort of the house and its central location continue to make it such a great choice for you, especially with Fitz Park so close by. It sounds like you made the most of your time in the area while still keeping things relaxed — we love the idea of parking up and not needing to move the car all week!
It’s also great to hear about Podgy Paws — what a brilliant solution for getting out and about with your older dog and still enjoying everything the Lakes has to offer.
We’re so pleased you had another great stay and would be absolutely delighted to welcome you back again in the future.
Best wishes,

Quiet spot near centre of town
Red Robin is a cracking 3-bed cottage in a quirky little side street in Keswick, with plenty of space and comfy furnishings … we really enjoyed our short stay there, and it was good to be within 10-15 minutes walk to Fitz Park, centre of Keswick town, Hope Park and the shores of Derwentwater.
Lots of neat touches around the cottage, plenty of room in all 3 bedrooms, and some good ideas regarding facilities upstairs & down.

A home from home
This is the second time we’ve stayed at the Red Robin and we still love it.
We love the location as it takes under 10 mins to walk to the centre of Keswick. We love the comfort and decor of Red Robin too. It’s very comfy and cosy which is just what you need after a long day hiking.
We also have a dog so the enclosed garden is a bonus.
We loved our stay and the wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Red Robin to others

A brilliant find
We found Keswick Cottages by chance but Red Robin was a wonderful place to stay. It's a few minutes walk from the middle of Keswick and very quiet. The cottage itself is well laid out, with everything you need (and the kitchen of dreams!), as well as spotlessly clean.
Personally I didn't find the sofa very comfy, which was a shame when we sat down to enjoy films together in the evenings, but that's a very minor quibble and I'd very happily come back.
I wound up speaking to staff in the course of paying the balance for the trip, and they were thoroughly lovely.

Hi there!
Thank you so much for your lovely and thoughtful review. We’re delighted you found us by chance and that Red Robin turned out to be such a wonderful place to stay — sometimes those unexpected finds are the very best!
It’s great to hear you enjoyed the peaceful setting while still being just a short walk into the centre of Keswick, and that the cottage itself ticked all the boxes — especially that kitchen of dreams! We’re also really pleased to know everything was spotlessly clean and well laid out for your stay.
Thank you as well for your honest comment about the sofa. Comfort can be quite a personal thing, particularly when settling down for an evening film, so we do appreciate you mentioning it and will pass it on for consideration.
Your kind words about our team are especially appreciated — it’s always lovely to hear that you found everyone friendly and helpful when getting everything organised.
We’re so pleased you had such a great stay and that you’d happily return — we’d be absolutely delighted to welcome you back again in the future.

Bins
We have stayed in Keswick many times and in lots of different properties. Red Robin is in an excellent location, quiet and peaceful.
This property was well appointed especially if you were self catering like we were with a young family.
The only moan and this is for all holiday properties ,is the waste bins.
Where we live we have bins for all recycling and find it really saddening that we can’t recycle as well while we are on holiday .
We know there are recycling points in the town, but it’s something we don’t want to waste our precious days doing.
Moan over, we had a lovely time.
Response from VrboOwner on 25 Feb 2026
Hi, Alison!
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts — we really appreciated reading your review. It’s lovely to hear that you’ve stayed in Keswick many times and that Red Robin has earned a special place on your list. That quiet, peaceful spot really is one of its big charms, and we’re so glad it worked well for you and your family.
We’re thrilled you found the cottage well?appointed too, especially for self?catering with little ones in tow. We always aim to make things feel genuinely practical and comfortable, so it’s wonderful to know it helped your holiday run smoothly.
And your “moan” is absolutely fair — and something we agree with wholeheartedly. It’s frustrating for us too, and we completely understand that popping to recycling points isn’t how anyone wants to spend their precious days away. Your feedback is very much heard, and we continue to raise this with the local authority whenever possible.
Most importantly, we’re delighted that despite the bin battle, you had a lovely time. That’s exactly what we hope for every guest who stays with us.
Thanks again for your kind words — we’d love to welcome you back to Red Robin on your next Keswick adventure.
Best wishes,

We stayed at Red Robin for 3nights.
Everything was perfect, great quiet location within walking distance to the town & local walks. Nice to not have to drive anywhere.
On street parking in front of the property was good.

Red Robin Keswick
What a beautiful cottage, spotlessly clean. So very well furnished, large kitchen stocked so that you didn't run out of crockery before you wanted to put dishwasher on. So many places have just enough plates, cups cutlery for one sitting! A wonderfully comfortable cottage just 5 minutes walk from town centre. Garden was perfect for our two dogs and great to clean them up in the utility room after a wet walk. A credit to the owners. Great to have all info about cottage online. Thank you. We will be back.

Red Robin - Keswick
A marvellously well recently renovated property within 5 mins walk from cute Keswick town centre and close to the start of local hikes. Inside it feels light, airy modern and fresh. The garden is secure and perfect for anyone with kids/woofers and the property feels homely and cozy. Plenty of on street parking. Large master bedroom, and lots of coat hangers in the wardrobe! It’s the little touches that make all the difference. Great advice and communication from the agents all the way through from booking to checkout, including their very helpful digital guide. We loved our stay, highly recommended!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hello, Ian!
We're so happy that you enjoyed your stay! It really is the little touches that make all the difference. We take a lot of pride in our properties, and always consider what would give the extra 'WOW' if we were staying there.
Red Robin can be home to up to six guests, and as well as its amazing garden and generally cosy, home-from-home atmosphere, is embellished with modern details such as the Smart TV, dishwasher, and utility room with washer and dryer facilities-- another perfect perk for those travelling with children or pets, or those planning to brave a few muddy walks during their stay! We'd love to welcome you again.

Family Long Weekend
This was our first time staying at Red Robin but would definitely stay again. It is within easy walking distance of all the facilities of Keswick and close to Fitz Park. It is well equipped and has plenty of space for six adults and two dogs. The outdoor area is spacious with a large pleasant decking area for sitting on which will be even more attractive when the planters are filled.
The one improvement I could suggest is making more than one key available.
Response from VrboOwner on 5 July 2024
Thank you so much for your 5-star review! We are so happy you enjoyed your stay at Red Robin and that you found it well equipped for your party. We are looking forward to filling the planters this summer. Apologies about the one key, the previous guests had accidentally taken the other set. We hope you had a wonderful time and we hope to welcome you back soon! Best Wishes, Keswick Cottages

Very comfortable and convenient
This property is immaculate inside and extremely comfortable. Red Robin is very well presented and ideally situated on a quiet side street, with easy access to the town centre, parks and lake it’s a great choice for a stay in Keswick.
If you’re not going to use the dishwasher, suggest you do need to take washing up liquid and a dishcloth or sponge, but towels and tea towels were amply provided.
Despite being on a side street and there being parking available right outside, it is still only on a first come first served basis and we had to park on Helvellyn Street during our stay - it’s only metres from the property, so no real issue.
A lovely property in a good location and Keswick Cottages were extremely helpful when I had a query - thank you.
Response from VrboOwner on 27 Nov 2024
Thank you for your amazing 5* review! We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay at Red Robin. We're glad that you were able to get parked close to the property despite someone else nabbing the spot outside, there is plenty of parking in the area at least which is handy! It was our pleasure to help during your stay, we're happy that you got sorted and were able to enjoy the rest of your holiday. We hope that you will visit again, we'd love to host you for another break! Best wishes, Keswick Cottages

Lovely central cottage
This is our second visit to this cottage. Very central for Keswick, only a 5 minute walk into the town centre. Lovely comfortable living room and bedrooms, although the twin room (or super king if you have requested) lacks a set of drawers (which could also be used as a dressing table), as there is only a wardrobe with one drawer and if you are staying a week there is not enough space. Lovely bathroom and nice kitchen. The only thing that lets the property down is a half finished garden, which looks a bit untidy. Artificial grass also is not the best idea, especially when it is a dog friendly house! Parking isn’t great, but we only found it difficult over the weekend, during the week it’s fine.
We had one or two issues when we arrived, but Keswick Cottages dealt with them very quickly.
