About this property
The Retreat Cabin in the woods
Our New Listing - The Retreat This unique, cosy, hand-built cabin with stunning views of the surrounding countryside is the ideal escape for couples. The Retreat has everything you need: a comfortable and stylish open plan kitchen/living/dining space, a bedroom with a king-sized bed and beautiful views, and a large bathroom with a single-ended roll-top bath to relax in.
The Space The Retreat`s only neighbours are the horses in paddocks surrounding the cabin and the deer in the field it overlooks. Its glass frontage looks out onto a large enclosed garden and the fields beyond, so you will feel a real sense of peace and space. Straight out of the gate and you will find yourself on a public footpath giving you access to miles and miles of walking, running and cycling. Just 5 minutes along the footpath and you will be on the Marriott`s Way, a 26-mile disused railway running from Norwich to Aylsham. Just 2.5 miles along the footpath is the Market Town of Aylsham with shops, restaurants, pubs and excellent tea rooms.
Guest access The cabin is self-contained and has everything you need! There is a large bathroom (toiletries and towels provided) with a toilet, bath and shower, and a fully equipped kitchen with oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, toaster, kettle, dishwasher and washing machine.
Other things to note The Retreat is a real escape, there is a designated parking space which is a short walk (100m) through the trees to the cabin. A wheelbarrow is provided to help you transport your belongings. This is also the perfect escape for your 4-legged companion, 1 small well-behaved dog is welcome. Please respect the neighbouring horses and wildlife. There is a cosy bio-ethanol fire during the winter months only. Fuel is provided for this. Babies under 1 year are welcome - however, please note there is no travel cot.
One bedroom and one bathroom with a lounge and kitchen area, all your needs can be met under one roof.
A quick walk outside takes you into your private garden.

Perfect weekend getting away from it all. Beautifully clean and well equipped cabin, quiet and secluded with only horses for neighbours. Lots of walking and relaxing. Would certainly recommend.
Lovely location with only horses as neighbours and lovely views of trees and countryside. If you want a place that gets you away from the rat race, this is the place. Aylsham is only a short drive and is a lovely little market town. The cabin is well fitted out with everything thought of for your stay. The parking at the end of the woods and the cart to take your luggage to the cabin through the woods is part of the experience. The garden is very dog friendly fenced in all round. Think of this waking up in the morning making a cup of tea opening up the curtains and seeing the wonderful views from your windows. Then venturing out to be greeted by a lovely horse pleased to see you at the fence. I have got home after 4 nights stay feeling refreshed and relaxed. There is much to do locally or you can relax and enjoy the lovely walks straight from the cabins door.
