Thanks we enjoyed our stay
What a perfect weekend started out hot (with a/c on than it got cold with wood stove on ) to take chill out of the air. Thanks the place was perfect and we enjoyed all the wine tours.
Great little cabin in the mountains
Cabin was exactly as described and check-in was easy (though it would be helpful to add a note about the door location, which is kinda "odd"). Perfect spot for our girls weekend which included hiking, going to caverns, visiting a few wineries and breweries and a drive through (part of) the Shenandoah National Park.
We had a great time. The house was perfect size for 2 of us and the sunsets were magnificent.
Great Cabin a Bit of a Hoof From the National Park
We had a fantastic stay. Beautiful property at a reasonable price. But if you are planning to stay in the park, be prepared for a bit of a drive. (It was a nice drive and John was completely accurate in his estimate of just under an hour). John was very responsive to all our concerns and needs.
My friend and I spent a long Spring weekend in this home and it was delightful. So quiet. Such a beautiful view.
Very nice mountain retreat. Cozy bedrooms and nice open living area with beautiful views of the mountains. Worth the 15 mile drive from town.
Things to do nearby:
Lake Laura - 10 min drive - Swimming, Canoe& Kayak Rentals. There is a beautiful hiking route around the perimeter of the lake.
Hiking: Our favorite hike is Big Schloss. Its about 4.4 miles with amazing 360 views of the valley from the rock outcrop at the top.
There are many vineyards close by. If you google vineyards in the area, you will find a lot to choose from. Cave Ridge is one of the oldest and periodically has out door music on the weekends. Muse is a newer vineyard, but if you are really into wine, this is one of the best.
Breweries & Cidery:
The closest gas station and community store is located 7 minutes from the cabin
There are not a lot of restaurants in the immediate area, but the Copper Kettle Bar and Restaurant at Bryce Resort offers a full menu and is a great place to eat. If its a nice day, ask for one of the tables outside at the base of the ski slopes and watch the mountain bikers barreling down the slopes and over jumps.
Skiing & Snowboarding:
Bryce Resort's 18 hole championship course is one of the Shenandoah Valley's premier destinations for golf.
