Little Lodge was a wonderful getaway -- exactly as listed. As noted the roads in and out require an AWD or 4WD vehicle but the directions were great and we had no trouble in our Subaru. Our family (along with the dog) was very comfortable. We enjoyed Luray caverns and New Market sites. Definitely hope to return again!

Beautiful property in the mountains

This is a charming property in the mountains that will allow you to relax and recharge. We really enjoyed our stay and our hosts were responsive. Make sure you have a 4WD vehicle to access the property.

Little lodge doesn’t disappoint

What a nice clean little property. A nice quiet stay that was as advertised. A quiet area, in the woods and even has a doggie door and small fenced area for your favorite Pup. A few notable items on the gravel road include, a junk filled lot with no trespassing signs. Don’t really think anyone wants to trespass on that trashed oasis, and the dude apparently living in a white old Chevy Van? No fault of little lodge. We were happy to stay there, and would recommend to others..

The Little Lodge

We had a wonderful short stay at The Little Lodge! I love the mountains and we were definitely on a mountain. The trees were all changing and the scenery was beautiful! The small town of New Market was very easily accessible from the lodge. We did some hiking, went to the Civil War Museum and Battlefield, did some local shopping, & roasted s’mores back at the lodge on the fire pit. I loved that we could bring our two dogs. They had fun getting used to the doggie door and exploring the property. Wish we could have stayed a bit longer. Maybe next time.

Peaceful getaway, just the way like it!

Our stay at The Little Lodge was everything we'd hoped it be! The house was the perfect size, with 2 nice size bedrooms, two bathrooms (which was a plus), a nice screened in back porch (which was great for meals or just relaxing with a nice glass of wine and music), a washer and dryer (loved this, I had zero laundry to do when we returned home), outdoor front deck with firepit (we spent a lot of time on the decks, morning coffee was so peaceful). The house was surround by the good ol outdoors, with near by neighbors at a good distance. The Williams family made sure their guest had everything they needed, towels, blankets, coffee maker, (not having to pack those items was a plus!). My husband and I got into so much in the area (I researched it before we left) however, the Williams family did have a cute little table with a bin of "STUFF TO DO" which was really nice. Another thing I thought was a great gesture was their welcome book, with a personal message along with other little messages from previous guest. I read that our first nigh, seeing what everyone got into and what restaurants they ate at. All in all, we very much enjoyed our stay at The Little Lodge and would definitely stay again! Below is a few places, restaurants that we visited and enjoyed! Breakfast - Southern Kitchen - their food was amazing! Great Mexican food - Jalisco - so much flavor and great hospitality! Luna Bella Brick oven Pizza - This pizza was so good! Followed by Bella Gelato right across the street! (30 minute drive but worth it!) Daisy's Diner at Cooter's - the BBQ pork, mac & cheese grilled cheese, OMG a must have. (Nice pit stop plus you can see the Dukes of Hazzard cars!) Luray Caverns - beautiful! Garden maze, took us 40 minutes to get out of, but we had fun! lol River Bend Ranch - for horseback riding! Very nice people with beautiful horses! Shenandoah National Park - we hiked the south side - (bring your water, snacks and bug spray, lol. Shopping - head into Harrisonburg (30 minute drive)

Property was well stocked, clean, and comfortable. Owner was very helpful and quick to respond to questions. Definitely need a 4WD/AWD vehicle to get up the steep gravel road to the property. Highly recommend!

A place to relax.

A very quiet and secluded place to stay. I was looking for a place for rest and relaxation and this was the perfect spot. There was heavy rains the day of my arrival and the roads were washed out in several areas. Although it mentioned the need for a 4x4 vehicle to access the property, I feel a little more emphasis on this could have been helpful in the add. Otherwise it was a great experience.

Perfect Mountain Getaway

We loved our stay at the Little Lodge! We were looking for a relaxing and cozy weekend filled with reading by the fire, wineries, and good food, and that’s exactly what we got! It was the perfect way to recharge, and the added bonus of being able to bring our pup along made the trip even better! Highly recommend staying here!

We rented the Little Lodge to get away from the DC traffic and noise (not to mention multiple Thanksgiving invites) and that was certainly the case. The drive up the mountain was no joke, but well worth it. The cabin is isolated enough for total privacy and quiet. All the amenities were there, so we really didn't have to bring much with us to enjoy this lovely, cozy little lodge. A !

Great little cabin. Private but not remote.

Lovely cabin, very comfortable furnishings, pet friendly, and well cleaned. Owner adds lots of little touches to make guest comfortable. Games, outdoor equipment that is clean and new, books, lots of towels and blankets. Most pet froendly home ever.
