About this property

Beautiful home only 15 minutes from Mesa Verde National Park!

Rustic Hideaway is away from the hustle of town, but yet close enough you can be in downtown Cortez in just a few minutes by car. Tammy (your host) is always available if something is not to your satisfaction. We strive to make our guests stay remarkable.

The Rustic Hideaway was designed to give you the modern old west feel. When I say modern I mean you get the old west/rustic decor with the luxury of free wifi, TV in each room with a Roku (Disney, Hulu, TV included, you can log into other apps such as Netflix, Vudu, etc. with your own account if you choose), DVD player, air conditioning, electric heat, and even a flushing toilet (we thought our guests would prefer this over the old west outhouse).
Have a party, reunion, or any other event? Rustic Hideaway is the perfect place for you. Located on 5 acres and away from the main road, you get the privacy and space you need for almost any event. The property also features a beautiful stream passing by with chairs to relax and enjoy.
There are two queen beds in the loft upstairs with a 1/2 bathroom. Just outside the sliding glass doors you can enjoy the beautiful view and sounds of the creek below from the covered balcony. Downstairs, you will find a master bedroom with a queen sized bed, vanity sink, and dressing area. From the master bedroom you can walk directly outside onto the lower back deck. A few steps away, relax beneath the large shade tree in the double swing, listening to the song birds and creek below. There is a full kitchen supplied with many of the amenities you will need, including a dishwasher, pots/pans, glasses, plates, etc. In the bathroom downstairs you will find a large stone walk-in shower accessible to all guests. The living area has a fold out couch, which makes into a queen bed. Enjoy the deck in front of the house, supplied with an outdoor table and chairs, while cooking dinner on the BBQ. Other amenities you will find include a washer/dryer and a baby Pack 'n Play.

This little place is super cute and SO easy to stay in. The light switches and drawers all included labels, so finding things was really simple. Lots of really cool pine countertops, tables and shelves (if you appreciate quality woodwork). The location was quiet and pastoral, but only a few miles from Cortez and its assortment of restaurants. If I ever head to Mesa Verde again - which I may - this will be my first choice.

This property offers a very quiet cozy farmlike feel. The property has a beautiful creek you can sit at as the deck gives you a wonderful quiet feel that you and your family can enjoy. It has a rustic feel inside as you can sit in the living room watching tv or play a game as you prepare dinner. Everything is labeled and any item that you may need is available. A lovely stay that my family will be looking to book again.

Our family of 5 really enjoyed this property. The loft area was a great area for our 10 and 14 year olds. The creek was a fun place to cool your feet in after a long, hot day at Mesa Verde. Everything was nicely labeled. Would recommend to friends/family traveling to this area.

The property was great inside and out. The house had everything we needed and was thoughtfully labeled so we knew where things were. Perfect Family Vaca Spot

The name of the house perfectly describes the experience. Tucked away by a little creek you find this rustic cabin where you can enjoy the beautiful outdoor view of the woods, large tree or creek. The inside had rustic cabin interior. The place was clean and comfortable for the family. We also enjoyed the games.

Ranch Experience

We had an awesome stay at The Hideaway Ranch. The ranch ambience was exquisite! All the little touches of horse shoes and great communication made it clear the the host wanted to provide a good experience. The porches and outdoor seating was perfect. The kids enjoyed all the yard games. We had a delightful stay and would definitely recommend this quiet spot away from it all!

Above and beyond!!

The cabin was wonderful! You can tell Tammy the host takes great pride in the home with it's cleanliness and attention to detail with everything and more that a couple or family would need for an extended stay. The setting in private beside a creek and horse pasture if you enjoy waking up to nature. There are 3 different decks to sit and enjoy beautiful Colorado! Location is perfect for visiting Mesa Verde, Canyon of the Ancients, Hovenweep and countless other scenic drives. Tammy even had left a card and cake for our arrival since she knew it was our 50th anniversary trip!! So thoughtful and sweet. Will definitely be out first pick when returning to Cortez area!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Everything was labeled and organized so well. Everything has been thought through. The windows/doors give a great view! Our kids enjoyed some of the games provided. Awesome home with easy access to nearby sights

We were looking for a launching point to visit Mesa Verde, Durango, the Four Corners, etc. and found this listing. We're glad we did. The location is nice and quiet with only the animals grazing in the pasture to delightfully entertain. The path down to the creek is cute and a great spot to paint or just relax. The wifi/Internet speed is decent and the overall accommodations made this a nice 4-night visit.

This house worked very well for us! Comfortable beds and a very organized house with little notes that tell you how to run the AC, switch on lights, etc. There were amazing little finishing touches like fresh fruit, a fully stocked kitchen, and various necessities you might have forgotten. Beautiful rustic decor and fun accents! A great place to stay- amazing porches and birds in the giant cottonwood trees - bring your binoculars! Tammy was attentive and helpful!

Nice Quiet Place

We stayed here over July 4 to visit Mesa Verde and viewed the fireworks in Cortez. The home was great - nice and quiet with dark skies. It was fun to see the Milky Way for the first time in a few years because we live in a more populated area. Sitting by the canal reading in the morning was peaceful and calm. The home was clean, very nicely decorated, and well organized. Our three daughters slept upstairs on the two queen beds, a son slept on the couch bed, and my wife and I slept in the master bedroom. It was an easy drive into Cortez and on to Mesa Verde. If we ever return to Cortez we would definitely consider staying here again.

Perfect Property!

This house exceeded all expectations. The photos do not do it justice. The location was perfect for hiking at Mesa Verde National Park. The house was by far the cleanest, most organized VRBO we've ever stayed in (and we've been regular users of VRBO properties for 10 years). Check-in was easy and contactless, the property was spotless, everything was organized and labeled, the hostess left us fresh fruit and amenities like shampoo and body wash, and the property was spacious enough for my family of 5 adults to spread out. We enjoyed eating out on the front deck for breakfast and dinner each day. We were impressed by this property and the hostess. Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay!
