Old house with lots of character. We were a group of friends for Williams reunion, and there was lots of room for everyone. Clean. Very good communication with the owner during the booking process.
We were in the area for a family reunion. Doug’s property was perfect for our large family. With bedrooms and bathrooms both downstairs and upstairs it was very convenient for our 92 year old father who cannot do a flight of stairs. The house was clean and well kept. We enjoyed sitting around the dining room table and talking for hours. Doug was easily accessible via text and made us feel right at home.

Great having you all stay at our place, Andrea. I hope everyone returned safely.
Be well.
A wonderful and lovingly maintained period home with lots of space, furnished and decorated for fitting for the homes vintage. You feel like you are taking a step back into a more gracious time without the pretension. The library suite is a bit more eclectic and mixes contemporary layout with and endless reading list!!. And (Cousin Doug)..we had an extended family event, made sure everything worked for our mix of seniors, parents and busy little people
This historic home has everything you would want for, in our case, a large gathering of friends and family. We rented the entire home and made good use of the many rooms and ample dining room. The kitchen is well appointed with plenty of pots, pans, plates, etc. to enjoy meals together.
The hosts Doug and Amy are very attentive to their guests and fully available. Their care for the property is evident. It was impeccably clean and the yard was beautifully tended.
Only down side is one that is entirely outside the control of the hosts, and only meaningful for those who wish to sit outside in the quiet. The home is located on a highway which, at certain times of the day, was quite loud if one was sitting on one of the lovely porches.
I would highly recommend this home to others.
6 of us here for one night while we were doing a golf tournament. The house was great, lots of room, loved the old feeling of it, truly an old inn. Doug was great to communicate with. We will definitely stay here again!
This is a beautiful home and there was more than enough room for the 5 adults and 2 children in our family. The location was perfect for our stay. We were able to take several day trips and see the following- The Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, MA; The Shaker Village in Hancock, MA; Manchester, VT; Woodstock, VT, The Calvin Coolidge Homeplace in Plymouth, VT; as well as Albany, NY. There is quite a bit to see and do around the area. It is a little less than 2 hours from the Hartford, CT airport and a little over an hour from the Albany International Airport. Doug is a helpful and thoughtful host. We would recommend this home to others and would stay here again.
My sons named it " The Mansion" . Great place, comfortable, close to Williamstown , the whole family loved the layout and decoration of the house . It felt like our own house.
On top of which Doug is great. He is one of the best hosts, if not the best host, that we have rented from. He is flexible, on top of things and very proactive in communicating .

Just right
Our three families found this a perfect place to spend time together. The reviews were accurate: beautiful, clean, comfortable. Thank you. As I sliced up the leftover birthday cake and passed it out to the grandchildren, the seven year old said with awe in his voice, “Why are you doing this for us?” That’s how I feel after this weekend: all generous, unexpected gift. Especially appreciated the cupboard of games.

a beautiful house
The house has great charm and lots of space, but is also in excellent physical condition, spotlessly clean, and comfortably furnished. Though close to route 7, the house is solid and quiet, and we slept well. The sheets and towels were good quality, and though the kitchens and bathrooms were not large, they were perfectly functional. Thank you Doug for a very nice stay

Amazing house on both the inside and outside! Clean, comfortable, and cozy getaway.
I stayed at this house along with some friends and we had an amazing time from arrival to departure. Doug greeted us with a warm welcome and lots of suggestions for things to do in the area from the many museums to local hikes. The house itself was filled with beautiful antique and vintage decor and was impeccably clean and tidy. We were able to cook delicious meals in the kitchen and enjoy cable TV. We would definitely recommend this house to families who want to experience Vermont country charm any time of the year.

Beautiful property both inside and out and great location for southern VT and Berkshires.
This property is perfect for 2 couples or a family of four looking for a getaway in southern Vermont. With close access to Bennington VT, Williamstown MA, and Manchester VT via Rt7 (the property is set back from Rt 7), there are many areas to see. I rented the first floor apartment that had 2 bed rooms,( one room with a double bed and one room with 2 twins) a full dining area, an eat in kitchen, a full living room, and one bathroom. There are two outdoor porches as well. The apartment was clean and nicely decorated. The wood work inside and wood floors were really beautiful. The dining room was spacious and could sit 6-8 people easily. Kitchen was setup well for cooking and dining. Satellite TV and wifi was available. Owners were very accessible and supported all needs. Really great spot and great value.
