Sloopside is a spacious and contemporary holiday home providing high-quality, comfortable accommodation. Tucked away in a quiet corner of Bantham village on the mouth of the Avon Estuary, the house is within easy walking distance of unspoilt Bantham Beach, popular with surfers, wild swimmers and other water sports enthusiasts. The historic 17th century Sloop Inn is a stone's throw from the front door.
The house has a reverse-level arrangement with living spaces on the first floor, making the most of the panoramic views of Bigbury Bay and iconic Burgh Island. It is a beautiful place to spend time with family and friends.

Accommodation:
Sloopside can accommodate up to 14 guests. The Main House has four bedrooms and sleeps ten people, and the self-contained two-bedroom Annexe sleeps four.
The front door of the Main House opens onto a spacious entrance hall with storage for coats and shoes, a cloakroom and utility cupboard housing the washing machine and tumble dryer.
Off to the left of the entrance hall are two well-appointed bedrooms that open onto the garden with sea views. The principal bedroom with en-suite shower room has a comfortable super-king bed that can also be arranged as twin beds, a wardrobe and a large chest of drawers. Next door is the double bedroom with a comfortable king-size bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers, and opposite the family bathroom with basin, WC and a shower over the bath.
Turn right off the entrance hall and there is a wet room with shower, butler's sink and hanging rack for wet suits and swimmers. Adjacent is the bunk room with two sets of full-size bunk beds, a large chest of drawers and hooks for hanging.
The fourth bedroom with en suite bathroom is upstairs. Furnished with a wardrobe, chest of drawers and comfortable king-size bed looking out to sea, it has a tranquil, New England feel.
Also upstairs are the two large, airy, open plan living spaces connected via a short corridor with a cloakroom off it. The living/dining areas of the Main House open onto a balcony running the width of the property with sliding doors from the indoor dining area leading onto the covered al fresco dining area looking out to sea. In the Annexe, the dining area opens onto a wraparound balcony with stunning countryside and sea views. Both kitchens are very well equipped and complete with large island and breakfast bar, induction hob, oven, combination microwave oven, large fridge with ice box and wine fridge; perfect for preparing meals with family and friends.
Both living areas have smart TVs and two leather sofas for relaxation and wood-burning stoves for use during the colder months.
On the ground floor of the Annexe the entrance hall has storage for coats and shoes and a utility cupboard housing the washing machine and tumble dryer.

The principal bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower, a comfortable king-size bed, built-in wardrobe and chest of drawers. Next door, the double bedroom has a king-size bed that also be arranged as twin beds plus freestanding wardrobe with drawers. Opposite is the family bathroom with basin, WC and a shower over the bath.
Outside:
The garden at the rear of the property enjoys wonderful sea views and is divided into two separate areas, giving both the Main House and the Annexe their own generous, private garden spaces.
Stairs from the Main House outdoor dining area lead down to the garden. There is a spacious patio area with benches and a Little Tikes Wendy House. The lawn is lined with borders of evergreen hedging.
A gate connects to the garden of the Annexe which has its own patio area with table and bench seating. The lawn is lined with evergreen hedging and flowering plants and slopes gently down towards the wildflower garden.
During good weather, sun loungers and barbecues are provided for guests.
Parking:
A dedicated parking area to the side of the house provides parking for four cars with an additional parking space on the hard standing in front of the house.
Dogs:
Well-behaved dogs are welcome (max three dogs). There is an additional fee of £55 per week for the first dog and £30 for each subsequent dog.
Minimum three-night short breaks are available all year, outside of school holidays. The Main House (HAUK 8598921) and The Annexe (HAUK 8625547) can also be rented separately.
