About this property
Trefaen Cottage, Trefaen Cottage in the Brecon Beacons
Tucked away on a working family farm in the peaceful village of Crai, Trefaen Cottage offers an idyllic rural retreat for couples or small families seeking to unwind and reconnect with nature. Surrounded by open countryside and the gentle sounds of birdsong, the occasional tractor, and grazing sheep, it’s the perfect base for walking, sightseeing, or simply enjoying the stillness of the Brecon Beacons.
Once a traditional workman’s cottage, Trefaen has been lovingly renovated to an exceptional standard, blending rustic charm with modern comfort. Oak furnishings, exposed beams, and underfloor heating throughout bring warmth and elegance to this welcoming home.
The cottage sleeps up to three guests, with one spacious double bedroom and a cosy single room.
The beautifully crafted kitchen features a classic Belfast sink and high-quality integrated appliances, including an electric oven with ceramic hob, microwave, slimline dishwasher, washing machine, and a large fridge/freezer, everything you need for a relaxing self-catered stay. A starter pack consisting of tea, coffee and sugar sachets are also available to get your started.
In the spacious living area, you'll find a comfortable three-seater sofa and armchair, a Smart TV for entertainment, and a dining table that seats four, perfect for slow breakfasts or candlelit dinners.
Upstairs, the master bedroom is a real highlight. With a generously sized oak-framed double bed, oak dressing table, wardrobe, Smart TV, and even a romantic roll-top bath, this is a space made for slow mornings and restful evenings.
The single bedroom is charming and rustic, furnished with a vintage oak chest of drawers.
A modern spacious bathroom completes the upper floor with a walk-in shower, toilet, hand basin and a heated towel rail for fluffy warm towels. We also provide complimentary Black Pepper & Sandalwood shampoo, body wash, and conditioner for a little added indulgence.
Outside, you’ll be immersed in farm life, with endless fresh air and ever-changing views. The cottage also welcomes up to two small dogs, so your four-legged friend doesn’t have to miss out on the adventure.
Trefaen Cottage is a terraced property, adjoining Llysfaen Cottage and the larger Oak Barn next door, ideal for larger group bookings when rented together as Crai Valley Holiday Complex.
We also support eco-conscious travel, EV charging stations are available on-site for guest use.
For families, a travel cot and highchair can be provided upon request (please bring your own cot blankets).
