Lake Tenkiller is the clearest body of water in the state of Oklahoma with 130 miles of scenic shoreline. It has two state parks and 20 parks managed by the Corp of Engineerss. Tenkiller is known for its boating and fishing activities. If you're fishing for bass, walleye, crappie or trout - this is the lake to visit! Bring your boat or if you don't have one there are several marina rental sites available for boats, jet skis, paddle boards, and boat pull toys. Eating on the lake is an incredible experience at the floating restaurants and there are some excellent land based restaurants also. Tenkiller is a magnificent memory-making lake that will capture your heart and sense of adventure.
For the HUNTERS, The Bay House is a mere 5-10 miles from the Qualls and Zeb entrances to the Wildlife Conservation Areas. Cherokee WMA consists of approximately 31,360 acres in southwestern Cherokee County and is located two miles south of Hwy. 62 at Zeb, Oklahoma. The WMA is a mixture of uplands with scattered fields and small stream riparian areas. Numerous ponds dot the landscape. Oak-hickory timber on rolling hills predominate the area. Fields and meadows with native bunch grasses and brushy thickets are found throughout with several seasonal small streams bisecting the area. The main drainage is Greenleaf Creek, which runs east to west, and contains typical bottom land over-story such as: sycamore, elm, ash, hackberry, mulberry and pecan. The average annual precipitation is about 41 inches. The management area is divided into a 16,000-acre Public Hunting Area (PHA) and a 15,360-acre Game Management Area (GMA). The PHA is generally open year round for legal seasons, while the GMA is open mainly for controlled hunts.

The city of Tahlequah, located 20 minutes away and is part of the "Green Country" region of Oklahoma and was established as the capital of the 19th century Cherokee Nation in 1893, as part of the new settlement in Indian Territory after the Trail of Tears. The current and present Cherokee Complex can be toured as well as the old court house, cultural center, old jail, art galleries, restaurant and gift shops. While there is much history to see and experience, the town of Tahlequah also offers movie theaters, live theater, a jazz lab, 2 golf courses, antiques, quaint parks, casino, shopping, antiques, restaurants and coffee shops. Tahlequah is also home to Northeastern State University and has that college vibe on the north end of town.
Another one of Tahlequah's biggest outdoor attractions is the scenic Illinois River, which is home to over 60 miles of breathtaking landscapes. Floating is one of the biggest recreational activities available. Depending on your preference, you may float by raft, kayak or canoe.

About the host
Hosted by Chuck and Vickie Love
We have been at the Bay House for 32 years, raised our family here and enjoyed this beautiful area. When we became empty nesters we opted for a smaller place, but wanted others to be able to experience our little piece of paradise. We hope you will consider staying here and vacationing. There is so much see and do. We would love to host you.
Why they chose this property
We often came from Kansas to this area to vacation on the Illinois River and Lake Tenkiller. It had the best of both worlds. We love floating the river and boating on the lake. We knew this was where we wanted to live. We purchased this house and over the years the house was remodeled and became much more spacious and family accomodating. We have put a lot of work into our yard and created a well maintained park-like environment. Its just a great place to relax and enjoy family and friends.
