The perfect place to stay

The Sycamore is a really lovely cottage, with all the comforts needed to make your stay perfect. The owners are really kind and always helpful if needed. The village, very beautiful itself, is in a perfect position to explore the rest of the Cotswold area. I’d surely recommend the Sycamore for a pleasant stay.

Relaxing and Quiet Stay

We had a relaxing and quiet stay which is what we looking for. The Sycamore is a lovely accommodation, and is on the whole a clean accommodation however it would benefit from some attention to detailed cleaning ( ie book rack that had not been moved for some time and lots of dead flies in it.) Overall we had a pleasant stay.

Excellent Location

We had a lovely 3 night stay at The Sycamore. A very well equipped apartment. Cosy seating area. Comfortable bed and a great shower. Perfect location and some great walks. Bonus was the parking, the pub close by, which served great food. Will definitely return. Thank you.

Perfect location

The Sycamore is a lovely haven in the middle of the picturesque village of Bibury. Conveniently located for exploring the beautiful surroundings. It was well equipped and the milk and wine were a lovely welcoming touch. Nestled between two good pubs, so a nice evening stroll was a perfect way to end the day. So good we’ve booked again for next year.

A few days in the Cotswolds

We've stayed at "The Sycamore" a couple of times and we've never been disappointed. A lovely place, in a lovely setting. It's always clean, well setup and the complimentary chocolates on arrival are great ! Some lovely local walks walks and a choice of the local pub or the hotel in the village, if you fancy eating out. Further afield, there are many lovely little villages & towns to visit in a reasonable driving distance. The only downside is the coach loads of tourists during the day ! It can get VERY busy in Bibury (not a real problem as we tend to go out for the day), also we prefer to go a little out of season when its a bit quieter.

The Sycamore

A delightful property, tucked away in the picturesque Cotswolds. We booked a very last minute 2-night stay here, and once the property manager found out we had a 4-month old baby, she offered to upgrade us to a larger property at no additional cost, which was really lovely of them to do. The property was very clean, tidy and well looked after. However, there were a few issues that me and my partner would like to highlight; firstly, the kettle provided needs to be replaced asap, there is so much limescale inside that it has turned a chalk white, and when heating up you can see these white bits floating about in the water. Secondly, you can’t park outside the property because the garages below where you are staying are in constant use by the gardener, cleaner, and anyone else who has a key really; which is where me and my partner had a real issue. As you come in through the front door, there is another door straight ahead of you that leads to a utility room, and through that you find the garages, these doors remained unlocked for the duration of our stay, and provided constant access to the place we were supposed to call ‘home’ to anyone who might have a key, this led to restless nights where i was on high alert because I didn’t feel safe and secure. Thirdly, I think the water quality may need checking, on top of the limescale in the kettle, if you run the tap for a glass of water - leave it running for several minutes, otherwise you will have a cloudy glass with bits floating in..very concerning. Furthermore, please please do a thorough sweep of your property, we found a glass with a large crack running through it but was placed with the others which I would have used had my partner not noticed the crack. Apart from these few things, the property was always warm, there was plenty of light, the shower was incredible, and the bed was the epitome of supreme comfort. ~ Anthony, Bethany & Ava Rose
