The property was clean and comfortable, very well kept, with tasteful decor. For us, it was a great option for visiting family history sites. Our 10 year old grandson thought it was a cool place too!
overall it was a very nice tidy place with more than enough room. it was well maintained and the only draw back was the detail done by the cleaners, the place was basically well cleaned but not all things were cleaned properly.

John’s group arrived 5 hours before the check in time shown on our listing and were disappointed when our cleaners did not allow them access. I contacted him immediately and offered a complimentary early check in once the cleaning was completed.
Unfortunately they broke house rules by allowing two dogs into our home which has a no pets policy. When contacted about this John lied saying they had only been in the garden.
When advised by VRBO to cancel the booking and ask the guests to leave, John then retaliated by complaining about the cleanliness of the property (I would expect guests who were unhappy to communicate concerns sooner than 48 hours after their arrival.)
Despite being politely asked to leave they continued to stay in the property for another 24 hours.
On their departure we noticed that our driveway had been marked considerably with oil from their guest’s van. We are now facing out of pocket expenses to have the monoblocks cleaned and an ongoing dispute over payment of this.
During conversations John seemed like a lovely man, however, the lack of respect for house rules, the lies and the damage to our property means I would urge other hosts to be wary.
