About this property

Idyllic cottage in Lamorna valley -walk to pub&sea

Piggywidden 1 nestles in the beautiful Lamorna valley. Just a mile from the sea and under three miles from the picturesque fishing village of Mousehole.

This peaceful, relaxing Cornish idyll is the perfect base from which to explore the dozens of wonderful beaches, restaurants, cliff walks, cafes, gardens, pubs & sites of interest - all within a ten mile radius.

The cottage is a beautifully converted former pig sty. Ideal for surfers, twitchers, walkers, artists & those just looking to relax.

The space
Piggywidden One has been converted to incorporate all modern facilities whilst retaining the building's original charm. The cottage is semi-detached, being joined on an L-shape with the smaller Piggywidden 2 cottage. The cottages are surrounded by two granite walls which originally created the fold yard, but now form an attractive, enclosed sunny garden.

A beautiful single storey granite building, Piggywidden One comprises of two bedrooms. The first bedroom has a double bed and wardrobes. This bedroom leads into a small hallway off which is a recently updated bathroom with bath / shower (over bath), a lit mirrored cabinet above the basin, heated towel rail and a lavatory.

The hallway leads into a long, spacious open-plan kitchen / dining room, with high ceilings and Velux windows.

The fully equipped kitchen area includes an electric cooker, fridge, kettle, washing machine and microwave.

Adjoining this area is the sitting room which has a double seater sofa, two single arm chairs, a small electric faux wood burner and a colour television. It is very much a cosy snug!

Off the sitting room is the second bedroom which has bunk beds, a dressing table and plenty of hanging space.

Dog friendly for one well behaved dog, providing house rules are followed.

The three cottages share a large, well-maintained picnic area which leads onto two contiguous meadows and overlooks the valley. It is a great place for children and adults alike to run free, explore the woodlands safely and relax.

The three cottages together make an ideal booking for larger groups / families.

Guest access
You are welcome to use the enclosed garden to the front of the cottage as well as the large picnic area and adjoining meadows and woodland.
