Charming Cottage Near Dartmouth with Log Burner
Welcome to Cider House, a charmingly quirky and recently renovated terraced barn nestled in the picturesque hamlet of Hutcherleigh, just outside Blackawton Village. Sleeps four guests and designed with your comfort in mind, this delightful cottage offers everything you need for a peaceful countryside escape. Whether you’re looking to unwind from the hustle of city life or simply soak up the rural tranquility, Cider House is the perfect Devon escape.
Here at Your Devon Escape we will leave you alone to enjoy your stay but are on hand if required.
The cottage benefits from a communal orchard roughly ten yards from the front door of the cottage. This is a great space to pick an apple from the tree or enjoy some family garden games and a lovely spot for your four-legged friend to run around with their ball.
There is designated parking for two cars in the communal car park. If you are travelling with your furry friend, we welcome one well-behaved pet for an additional charge (please specify when booking).
If you have an extended family and you are looking to accommodate up to eight guests, then you can also consider the sister cottage, Shepherds Cottage located right next door, making it very convenient to house grandparents or extended members of the family – please enquire here.
Nearby beaches of Blackpool Sands and Slapton Sands are a fifteen-minute drive away through beautiful Devon countryside. You are a short drive from the wonderful Woodlands Leisure Park and Dartmouth Golf Club as well as nearby towns of Dartmouth and Totnes.
You will have the entire cottage to yourself.
If you have an extended family and you are looking to accommodate up to eight guests then you can also consider our sister cottage, Shepherds Cottage. Located right next door, it is perfect for housing grandparents or extended members of the family – please enquire.

As you arrive, you will be welcomed by a lovely, paved terrace at the front of the cottage. It is the ideal spot for alfresco dining or relaxing with a good book. Bathed in sunshine, it is the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee, watch the local wildlife or wave to the passing farmer.
Step inside to an open-plan kitchen, dining and living space that is brimming with country charm. The kitchen features a Belfast sink, wooden countertops and a rustic electric range, inviting you to cook up a feast with fresh, local produce. Gather around the dining table to share meals and create lasting family memories.
The cosy lounge is a haven of relaxation, complete with a log burner for chilly evenings and comfortable leather sofas where you can unwind with a movie or a good book. Your furry friend will love curling up by the fire too, making it a perfect home-away-from-home for both you and your pet.
Upstairs, the first-floor houses two beautifully furnished bedrooms, each with its own en-suite. The master bedroom offers a king-size bed (which can be converted into two singles upon request), along with an open-plan shower and wash basin. The second bedroom features a luxurious roll-top bath and a king size bed, ensuring everyone has their own space to relax.
For families, baby equipment such as a highchair, stair gate and travel cot are available to hire (please add to booking), ensuring even the little ones are catered for.
Cider House is fully equipped for a comfortable stay with modern amenities like a 4K Smart TV, DVD player and a selection of board games and books for cosy nights in. The kitchen comes with everything you need from a Rangemaster Aga to a NutriBullet and cafetière, making it easy to enjoy meals at home.

There is space for two cars on the communal parking area a few yards from the cottage.
Pets:
We do ask that dogs are not allowed in the bedrooms or on the furniture and you will need to bring your own dog towels, bed and bowls. Please pick up after your pet wherever whilst you are here.
Logs:
From 1st November – 31st March, Guests will be given a starter pack for the log burner however, we provide details of where to buy more throughout your holiday in the welcome folder.
Master Bed:
Set as a 5ft King but can be split into two singles on request – please state at time of booking.
