About this property
Beach House & Garden in St Merryn, Private Parking
Summary:
Relax in this peaceful, single-level beach house in St Merryn. Enjoy stunning rural and distant sea views from the front garden, plus breathtaking sunsets thanks to its westerly aspect. The open-plan living area includes a well-equipped kitchen, dining space, comfy seating, and smart TV. Sleeps 5 across a double room and 2nd room with 3 singles. The modern bathroom features a roll-in shower. Private parking for 1 car with overflow spaces ensures a hassle-free stay!
The Space:
Being a single-level home with step-free access, Harlyn Cottage is perfect for young families with prams and guests with moderate access needs. There is a ramp to the front door and the bathroom is a wet room with a roll-in shower. However, please note that the doorways are standard width, so it is unlikely to be suitable for those with complex needs.
Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the whole property.
The Neighborhood:
St Merryn nestled just a few miles from Padstow on Cornwall’s north coast, is the perfect base for a holiday full of adventure, relaxation, and seaside charm. The village itself offers a selection of pubs, restaurants, and shops, including Rick Stein’s pub, The Cornish Arms. Known as “Seven Bays for Seven Days,” the area boasts a string of stunning beaches: Harlyn Bay, Treyarnon, Constantine, and Porthcothan are all just minutes away and perfect for surfing, swimming, or beachcombing.
Walkers can enjoy the spectacular South West Coast Path, with breathtaking clifftop views and hidden coves. Nearby Padstow offers great food, boutique shopping, and boat trips, while history lovers can explore the dramatic ruins of Tintagel Castle or visit Prideaux Place, a grand Elizabethan manor. Whether you're into coastal walks, cream teas, or catching waves, St Merryn is an ideal spot for a classic Cornish escape.
Further afield, the world-famous Eden Project is only around 40 minutes away. Whilst over there, you can also enjoy all the south coast has to offer. Charlestown with it's majestic tall ships and movie sets is only another 10 minutes. A bit further on and you'll land at the traditional fishing village of Mevagissey.
Getting Around:
Due to the remote nature of Cornwall, we would recommend bringing a vehicle for your stay. There is 1 dedicated space for the house and approximately 4/5 additional spaces for use across the whole site of 7 properties. They are available on a first come first serve basis.
For those coming by public transport, the cottage is only 20 minutes from Newquay Airport. Taxis and car hire are available from the airport. Newquay train station is also only around 25-30 minutes - similarly taxis and car hire are available in the town.
Other Things to Note:
There is an open garden at the front of the property which is not enclosed. The site is dog-friendly but they are not allowed to roam unattended so need to be on a lead.
Interaction with Guests:
We will be available via phone, email or message for the duration of your stay. Please do not hesitate to get in touch should you need anything!
