About the host
Hosted by John McGuckin
I am retired. And, I live down the road during the summer season. You can be sure that this rental cottage is maintained/cleaned/sanitized to the highest of standards between each guest because I do all of the cleaning myself!
Why they chose this property
This cottage is situated in a quiet setting, tucked in from the road, surrounded by trees and rocks. And, on a windy day, can hear the wonderful sounds of the incoming tides against the nearby ocean side rocks. Completely rehabilitated, inside and out over a period of several years along with major landscape changes with a little bit of help, of course, from nearby craftsmen and service providers. And, local bankers. The former owners stick built the cottage with local carpenters at a time in the early 70's when there were only a few other cottages and lots of trees on what seemed like a rugged trail at the time, rather than a road. We became its owners in 2005. Nowadays, a very different story. Although unique, larger single family homes have been constructed since that time, with dirt roads becoming more substantive, the area still remains primarily rural and very au naturel. Our cottage has always been owner occupied and only recently has been rented out for brief several week periods during the past few summers. It remains a very special place, and is still wonderful. Super clean and super cozy. Come and enjoy a relaxing stay at our place. Every One is Welcome!
What makes this property unique
The woods, the rocks, the afternoon sea breezes and the roaring sounds of the nearby Atlantic Ocean!
