Sunny Cottage is well equipped, tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. It is in a quiet location in the heart of Southrepps with pub, shop and parking all only a couple of minutes walk away. It is very dog friendly , I was impressed by the loan of a ramp to help our labrador climb into our car. It gave us an excellent to explore North Norfolk

Cosy, comfortable, dog friendly cottage in a quiet location
Sunny cottage is very well equipped with many thoughtful touches, and in a peaceful location in Southrepps. The beds were very comfortable and fitted with French linen, bathrooms beautifully appointed with very good quality towels provided. Our dog was also very well catered for. Easy walking distance to a pub in the village where we ate a good meal one evening. The stairs to the 2 bedrooms are steep with narrow treads and wouldn’t be suitable for anyone with reduced mobility and we didn’t realise when we booked that you couldn’t park a car at the cottage which wasn’t easy to find down a narrow path between other houses. You can park at the village hall down the road (no charge) but it’s quite a long way when unloading a car full of bags, food and the dogs stuff!

Response from VrboOwner on 6 Oct 2025
Thank you so much for taking the time to review Sunny Cottage Dr Taylor. We are delighted you enjoyed all the lovely luxury touches in this character cottage in such a historic village. The history here - with the flint cottages, the stunning old church and the cosy traditional pub - is reflected in the layout of many of the cottages in the area (and in many other North Norfolk villages) and this does include steeper, windier staircases than tend to be found in more modern/larger cottages. We do hope this didn't cause you too much inconvenience and have made it clearer on the website for any future guests.
We thought we had provided sufficient clarity about the parking being at the nearby village hall, however your review does illustrate that it is possible to overlook this. In response we have updated the website description to make it even clearer and will be going through the digital guide to ensure that it is highlighted in there too (as this is sent to guests some time before their stay)
Whilst not being able to park at the property itself is not perfect, we felt, when we took this lovely cottage on, that it was outweighed substantially by the high attention to detail inside, the comfort and luxury, the wonderful field views from the garden, the little fitness studio (none of our other cottages have that), the shop and fabulous pub both a short walk away. Not to mention the easy access to so many local walks and some really key places along the North Norfolk coast; it's an area we love walking with the dogs ourselves. The other key plus point is, of course, the truly dog welcoming vibe that the owners have provided! Hopefully a small price to pay for such a wonderful place to stay. We do hope you will come back for another stay now you are familiar with the cottage and the area and we have sent you a 10% discount code off your next booking.
Many thanks again for taking the time to review, it is very much appreciated. Sue

A Long Weekend of Bliss
A 3 night stay in Sunny Cottage in October was bliss. A fantastic get away from the hustle and bustle, to chill and enjoy some amazing family and puppy time.
I cannot recommend this cottage enough. A wonderful place to stay and the cottage was rustic, yet had all mod-cons that you could wish for (of a high standard).
Monty, our 5 month old Goldendoodle, was thrilled with his box of toys to play with, provided for in the cottage, not to mention his choice of two doggy beds! Being such a short distance to the coast, to say that he enjoyed his first experiences of the beach, and of course the sea, would be an understatement.
The local pub, The Vernon Arms, was great, so much so that we ate there 3 times in our 4 day visit. The villagers made us feel very welcome and by the end of our trip we felt like we really experienced the community spirit of Southrepps.
A beautiful part of the world, and we will 100% be returning. Next time for a longer stay!

Comfortable cosy hideaway
A really great dog friendly cottage with super responsive hosts. We felt at home from the very start in this lovely space. With plenty of dog bowls, towels, treats, poo bags, toys and 2 beds, we didn’t need to worry about forgetting anything which made preparing much easier! Our two labradors had plenty of space and the tiled kitchen diner and utility/ entrance space were easy to wipe clean with the doggy towels and cleaning spray provided. Plenty of dishes, cutlery, glassware and plates for all our needs. Also great thoughtful touches like a drawer with charging cables, plugs and torches - essential for your trip to the friendly local pub on an evening! Super secure garden with lights for the dark winter evenings. So very very quiet given you are set back from the road which was just perfect.
The newly refurbished downstairs bathroom has the best bath tub! But we loved that the upstairs shower room, whilst compact used the space so well. We asked for the twin room (which has the en-suite) to be made up as a super king which was no problem and worked best for us. The Tempur mattresses and pillows are very different to what we are used to but we slept soundly and comfortably!
We bought some more logs from the friendly local shop (1 min walk) and made full use of the wood burner across the 3 night stay.
The stairs are a little steep but we have had much worse and the upstairs bathroom was a big selling point for us, and unusual vs. Many other properties.
As we were exploring the area on this north east coast the location was perfect for this particular trip, but we’d like to pick the cottage up and move it across north Norfolk for our future stays!
