Midweek break with elderly relatives

We took our 90+ parents for a short break to Flag house -chosen with help from Tina at Norfolk lodges for its amazing position -lots to look at on the river boats/ sailing/ and feeding the ducks and swans which they loved.bedrooms and bathrooms all on ground floor and we didn’t really need upstairs! Would definitely return with more able bodied family and hire a boat!!

Perfect Stay on the Norfolk Broads

We arrived and were immediately impressed with the spectacular veiws across the river Yare. All mod-cons were afforded without aircon though this was not required during our stay. The decking is completely secure with those with children or dogs. Would thoroughly recommend and will return soon.

Great property and Location

A lovely property very Quirky set on the River Yare, Great Accommodation they have catered for all needs. Was lovely watching all the activity/wildlife on the river. All the amenities to hand we tried the pub at the end of the road and the local Indian and Chinese in the village all very good ,train station a walk away if you want to travel further afield or into Norwich.

Wow

Flag House is perfectly located on the banks of the river Yar & enjoys afternoon sunshine which is perfect for watching the numerous birds & sailing craft. Everything has been provided to a very high standard, from the comfortable beds, the soft furnishings, bathroom/en suite & well equipped kitchen.

Fantastic House

We loved our stay at Flag House, the house is gorgeous and there was plenty of space for the 4 of us and our 2 small dogs. It was perfect for a short break with some fishing thrown in. The boys caught a few Pike and lots of small roach. The only negative about the fishing was the passing boats - some got too close and got caught up in the lines! Our 2 little dogs loved sitting on the decking and looking at the ducks and swans. Wroxham was a nice place to visit, a few nice shops and great Fudge shop. We also visited a fantastic Farm shop called Salhouse Farm Shop & Cafe, with lots of lovely craft stalls. Great Takeaway places nearby too, most of them deliver - Thai, Chinese and Curry and a Fish and Chip shop. The milk, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits were really appreciated and also the dog basket with treats for them was a lovely touch. Our host Tina was great and kept us well informed throughout. Highly recommend Flag House and we will certainly visit again.

Flag House holiday

Lovely property, Furniture is good quality. Good for dogs. Enjoyed sitting in the pagoda and on the decking. Great views from the upstairs lounge and the dining table. Tina the Manager was very helpful and changed towels for us as we stayed for 3 weeks. Used the takeaways it is a shame the fish shop is closing end of March 2026. The White Heron restaurant and The Hermitage in Acle were both very good.

Stunning property

This house is truly stunning and the team ensured fantastic attention to detail including treats for our dogs. The property is gorgeous and spotlessly clean. The location was fab directly onto the water with sensational sunrises and sunsets. One recommendation we would give is to have the decking enclosed with a gate so that dogs/ children do not make a break for the water :)

Brilliant short stay

Our second short stay with Norfolk Holiday Lodges this year and we are already looking to book next year for a longer stay. Both Lodges we stayed in were spotlessly clean, well fitted out and in a beautiful location. Our first stay was in River Retreat and we were so impressed with everything we managed to get an extra day stay. When we got home we booked another weekend this time with the Flag house and like River retreat it was spotless through out it had everything we could possibly want and an excellent view of the main river. I cannot praise this holiday firm enough. Tina was a great help and kept in touch to make sure all was well. Would give it 6 stars out of 5 if I could.

Beautiful house in prime location.

Lovely stay in this stunning property. Ideal location for a visit to the broads. Fully equipped with kitchen equipment and extremely comfortable beds. Anglers: note this is not suited as a place to expect to fish from in the summer months, as I found out. Weed extends right across the river and the only area clear is right along the edge of the jetty. Plenty of small roach to be caught here but becomes a bit tedious after a while.
