The perfect place for a family getaway

This was our second weekend stay at Pengolwg and it was as memorable as the first The spacious and well equipped kitchen, the large lounge with incredibly comfy sofas and the dining room with the table comfortably fitting all of us. Each bedroom has a bed with the most comfortable mattress I have ever experienced. There are plenty of showers & bathrooms all exceptionally appointed We all agree (9 adults & 2 children) it is the perfect home in the perfect location, so much so we have booked for a week next year!

Superb House

The house is absolutely fantastic and met all our needs. We were a party of 7 adults and 2 dogs. The house was clean, comfortable, spacious with excellent cooking facilities. The outside area was ideal for the dogs and secure. The patio area and BBQ were ideal for our stay. The view from thd house is outstanding, overlooking the bay and Criccieth Castle. We had one issue with the cooker which was dealt with in a swift and professional manner. Overall, this is the best house we have stayed in, and we are looking forward to our return next year.

Holiday with friends

We were a group of four couples and a dog. The property was plenty big enough for us all. Great location with lovely views from the front. Enough private parking for at least four cars. Would recommend.

Spacious, Comfortable and a Fabulous Location

We honestly couldn’t fault Pengolwg. It was comfortable, spacious and exceptionally well equipped, with everything we needed. The kitchen had plenty of fridge and freezer space, and with numerous bedrooms and bathrooms, several seating areas with TVs and a fantastic basement games room, it’s ideal for larger or multi-generational families. There’s plenty of room to spend time together – or find a quiet corner! The sea views are fabulous, particularly from the seating area overlooking Criccieth Castle. There’s plenty of parking, easy access and a brilliant location for walking into town, with restaurants, pubs, Y Maes and, of course, Cadwaladers for an ice cream. A special mention too for Oyster Holiday Cottages. Their customer service has been brilliant – friendly, helpful and genuinely keen to make sure we had a great stay. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with them again. A fabulous house in a fantastic location. We loved it.

A great stay at Pengolwg.

We booked Pengolwg for 9 of us - us, our three sons and their partners and our granddaughter. It was ideal, giving us each our own space and plenty of communal space. It was in a lovely location with a great view over the bay and Criccieth Castle. We loved sitting in the snug area by the living room window. The dining room was plenty big enough for all of us and the kitchen was well equipped. The treats left for us were very welcome too! There were good walks along the beach and the nearby hills and plenty of places to eat and have a coffee and cake. We enjoyed trips out to Mt Snowdon, Portmerrion and the nearby Rabbit Farm. I'd definitly recommend Pengolwg and would love to return.

Special anniversary holiday

Recently came home after a fantastic week at Pengolwg in Criccieth. The house had lots of space for all of us (six adults and three children), with fantastic views over Cardigan Bay. The location was great with walking distance access to beaches, restaurants, shops and Criccieth Castle. Would recommend Dylan's Restaurant and Castle fish and chip shop. Ample car parking spaces. The kitchen is well equipped with all the utensils you need. Only a couple of points, there was a lack of countertops for meal preparation and a lack of pint glasses for beers. All the bedrooms are of a good size and plenty of bathrooms / on-suits, so no concerns there. There were lots of seats outside and the front garden overlooking the sea was south facing. The reason for a score of three on the condition is because some of the walls especially in the lounge areas could do with a freshening up. But this did not deter from us enjoying the house. For a large group with or without children I would definately recommend Pengolwg.
