Smiddy Cottage is a traditional stone cottage built in the 1850s, fully renovated in 2024/25 to an excellent standard.
Situated near Portmahomack the cottage is set in a rural location with stunning views, perfect for a holiday in the Scottish Highlands .
Open plan living space all on the ground floor:

Smiddy Cottage is peacefully set within 2 acres of pasture and woodland on the Tarbat Peninsula with distant sea views. The cottage retains its traditional character but has been renovated to a stylish, comfortable and well-equipped standard.
The cottage is light, bright and airy, has two bedrooms, modern bathroom and a contemporary open plan living/dining /kitchen area with feature fireplace, wood effect tiled flooring throughout. The well-equipped kitchen has wooden countertops and modern appliances. The traditional recessed picture windows look over its south facing enclosed private cottage garden and peaceful open country side.
Outside, there is a large enclosed cottage garden and gravel patio and dining/seating area. A secure gated gravel drive way allows for 2 vehicles and hard standing for motorcycles.
Locally there are activities and attractions to suit every taste i.e. Walking, Hiking, Cycling, Fishing etc. For history enthusiasts, there are numerous nearby historic sites and landmarks, testament to the region’s rich heritage such as ancient castles, military sites, historic fishing villages and quaint Royal Burgh market towns. Adventure and outdoor pursuits, such as kayaking along scenic rivers to rock climbing are also easily accessible nearby.
