When it’s time to retire, three inviting bedrooms await, each with its own hand basin and storage. An impressive king-size four-poster bed vies for attention with the sea views in the first bedroom; the outlook across the bay is similar from the second, double-bedded room. Full-size twin beds in the third room offer flexibility for any group, and completing the first-floor layout is a family-style bathroom. Take full advantage of your stunning location by spending time in the front garden, just moments from the water’s edge and with uninterrupted views of St Clement’s Isle and Mount’s Bay. If you’re bringing wetsuits and beach gear the rear courtyard is an ideal storage space.


Postcard-pretty Mousehole has a rich history as a once-bustling port. Today the village’s narrow streets are lined by small shops, galleries, cafes and cottages, protected from the full force of the sea by two sturdy breakwaters. Life moves at a slow pace here – boats bob in the harbour and at low tide its small beach is safe for bathing. For fun further afield, follow the coast road 2 miles to Newlyn, the South West’s largest fishing port; 1 mile further, Penzance has a rich nautical heritage and is home to the glorious Jubilee Pool, the UK’s largest art deco saltwater lido.
