About this property
2 Bed in Ruan High Lanes (oc-r29865)
This welcoming home-from-home is a fabulous base for adventures in this scenic part of Cornwall, set within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Special Scientific Interest. It is perfect for couples and small families alike. Head out for walks along the river or the coast path, spend days at the beach or go shopping in Truro, and then relax in your safely enclosed garden, enjoying the views or grilling something on the BBQ. There are two terraces from which you can admire the gorgeous cottage garden or the other where you can catch sight of the wildlife that inhabits the creek, such as deer, Kingfishers, Swans, Canadian Geese and nesting House Martins.
This charming, single-storey annexe (next to the owner’s home) is full of light and is tastefully decorated for a tranquil feel. In the comfortable lounge you’ll find plenty of seating and a Smart TV, while the adjacent conservatory/diner offers gorgeous views that you can relish while enjoying your meals or simply sitting back with a good book. The kitchen is equipped with all the necessities for easy holiday cooking, including a microwave and a dishwasher. At bedtime head through to either the king-size bedroom, which has its own Smart TV and direct access to the garden, or the pretty twin bedroom, where you’ll find ample storage. The rooms share a family bathroom. The outside space here is stunning, with rural views and sounds of birdsong. Mature trees and shrubs combine with well-tended planting, and the furnished patio – the ideal spot for a sundowner or al fresco meal – leads onto a generously sized lawn. There’s also an unfenced pond, so please take care of little ones and pets. You’ll also have off-road parking for two cars.
Explore the scenic (and less crowded) Roseland Peninsula, driving down narrow lanes to beautiful beaches such as Pendower (3 miles), Portloe (5 miles) or Portscatho (5.5 miles) or picking up produce from farm shops and stopping at picturesque pubs. The charming fishing village of St Mawes (8 miles), while if you fancy a change, the shops, art galleries and restaurants of Truro (12 miles) with it's spectacular Cathedral.
