Back garden with sitting-out area and garden furniture. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. Please note: Sorry, no weddings, hen or stag parties. Families, couples and holidaymakers only. This property is located on a working farm.. Glen Doll Cottage enjoys a breathtaking and secluded setting at the foot of Glen Doll, within the Cairngorms National Park. Set beside the main lodge and surrounded by Forestry Commission woodland, the cottage is accessed via a private driveway, offering a peaceful sense of escape while remaining easily reachable. This charming cottage/annexe provides an idyllic retreat for families or couples, with dogs welcome too.

Inside, the cottage is warm and inviting. A well-equipped kitchen makes it easy to prepare home-cooked meals, while the cosy lounge offers a comfortable space to relax, complete with a wood-burning stove and TV with Freeview – perfect after a day outdoors. A convenient downstairs WC completes the ground floor. Upstairs are two attractive bedrooms: one double and one twin, served by a well-appointed family bathroom. Outside, guests can enjoy a private patio area with garden furniture and a barbecue, ideal for soaking up the tranquil woodland surroundings.

Nestled within the spectacular Angus Glens, Glen Doll Cottage is perfectly positioned for outdoor enthusiasts. Walking opportunities are outstanding, with several well-waymarked trails passing close by, including Glen Doll Forest, the White Water Trail and the Dounalt Trail. The nearby Corrie Fee National Nature Reserve is a highlight of the area, famed for its dramatic corrie, rare alpine plants and stunning scenery.

Historic routes such as Jock’s Road to Braemar, Capel Mounth to Ballater, and paths into Glen Clova and Glen Prosen are easily accessed, making the area a renowned hub for hillwalkers and long-distance hikers. Mountain bikers, horse riders and cross-country skiers will also find an excellent network of tracks throughout the glens, while climbers are drawn to the rugged craggy valley sides and varied terrain. Overlooking the cottage, the Munros of Mayar and Driesh offer rewarding ascents with panoramic views across Angus.

Wildlife watching, photography, botany and bird-spotting are all popular pursuits in this unspoilt landscape, while salmon fishing is available on the nearby North and South Esks. Golfers are well served by Kirriemuir and Forfar Golf Clubs, both within easy driving distance.

The lively market town of Kirriemuir, known as the “Gateway to the Glens”, lies around 30 minutes away and offers shops, cafés and attractions including the Gateway to the Glens Museum, the Camera Obscura gifted by Sir J. M. Barrie, and connections to both Peter Pan and AC/DC’s Bon Scott. A welcoming pub and restaurant can be found just 3.5 miles down the glen, completing this superb Highland escape.
