The Den, West Anstey is set within the breath-taking scenery of Exmoor, on a former farm now operating as a stunning retreat venue.
The Den is semi-attached to the main farmhouse accommodation and offers an idyllic setting for couples, in this very comfortable and characterful cottage with its own private jacuzzi in the private and enclosed garden. There’s also an outside table and chairs and a gas barbecue for dining al fresco in the warmer months. The open plan living area is built for two and has a fresh and airy feel. The kitchen includes an electric oven with hob, microwave, under-counter fridge, slimline dishwasher and a washing machine. The double bedroom is at the far end of the property and has a kingsize bed and an en-suite bathroom with a bath, separate walk-in shower, wash basin and toilet. The grounds surrounding the property includes a lake with carp, an all-weather tennis court, there’s also a games room with a pool table, table tennis and darts, which guests are welcome to enjoy and make use of, but these are shared facilities with the other holiday cottages nearby. Deer’s Leap is a farm with animals, ponies, chickens, sheep, cows and a beagle called Poppy.
Whilst many come to The Den to simply unwind and get away from it all there are a plethora of activities to make your stay enjoyable and interesting. Many choose to explore the wide open spaces of Exmoor National Park and the beautiful North Devon coastline. The accommodation is located just 15 minutes from the A361 North Devon Link Road ensuring easy access to the glorious beaches at Saunton Sands or Woolacombe, both ideal for surfers or bathers alike. South Molton is also located a short distance away with its Farmers and Pannier markets held each week and a full range of shops, pubs and a supermarket. The larger town of Barnstaple is within 21 miles with numerous shops, a theatre and cinema. So whether you’re visiting in the winter and all you want to do is to curl up on a sofa with a mug of hot chocolate and a good book, or in the summer when you can relax out by the lake with a glass of wine watching the spectacular sunset, everything you could possibly think of is provided. Secluded from the busy world outside, you will be able to enjoy the restful tranquility of the rolling Devon countryside.
The Den (UKC4937) can be booked together with West Anstey Farmhouse (UKC4936), Lilly Bell Tent (UKC4938), Rose Bell Tent (UKC4939), Tulip Bell Tent (UKC4940), Daisy Bell Tent (UKC4941) and Sunflower Bell Tent (UKC4942) to accommodate up to 33 guests.
