About this property

South Cottage - sleeps 4 guests in 3 bedrooms

Nestled in Dorset's picturesque Blackmore Vale, South Cottage sits beside its sister property, Amy's Cottage, with both sharing a generous garden of sweeping lawns, a wildflower meadow, and tree‑lined hollows. Set within the quiet hamlet of Caundle Marsh and just a short distance from the vibrant town of Sherborne, this cosy and welcoming cottage makes an ideal base for exploring the area.

The ground floor features a light-filled sitting and dining room with dual-aspect windows, a wood-burning stove, Smart TV, and well-stocked bookshelves. The fully electric kitchen leads into a spacious conservatory, offering an alternative spot for dining or simply relaxing while enjoying views of the garden. Upstairs are three comfortable bedrooms; a king-size and two singles - each with far-reaching views across the garden and surrounding countryside. The family bathroom with shower is conveniently located on the ground floor at the foot of the stairs.

There is much to discover nearby, including Sherborne's two castles and historic Abbey, the beautiful Minterne House and Gardens, and the village of Cerne Abbas with its iconic Giant. A stop at Oxford's Artisan Bakery, just two minutes from the cottage, is highly recommended. The market town of Dorchester is an easy and enjoyable drive away, offering a wide choice of pubs, restaurants, museums, and shops. For those seeking coastal adventures, the stunning Jurassic Coast is also within comfortable reach.

Subject to availability, neighbouring Amy's Cottage for up to four guests can also be booked.
