To the west of the village you can discover the weatherworn ruins of the 16th century church of St Columba that lookout to sea. There are plenty of fishing opportunities, whether your preference is for the waves or the calmer lochs, and local amenities including a pub serving traditional food, a village shop and a café are within a short drive. Stornoway, the only town in the Outer Hebrides, can be reached within an hour's drive, offering a working harbour and a fantastic array of shops and award-winning restaurants serving local food.
