About this property

Priors Mead - 3 Bed Cottage in rural Claydon, Oxfordshire

If you love the aesthetic of exposed beams, inglenook fireplaces and authentic lead pane windows, then Priors Mead is the perfect storybook cottage for your rural escape. Nestled in a tranquil position on the edge of the sleepy village of Claydon, the property enjoys a sweeping countryside backdrop where peace and quiet is its defining feature. Time can be spent relaxing in the secluded cottage garden overlooking the fields and meadows that stretch out for miles or exploring the nearby canal walks by foot or bike, discovering all that the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside has to offer.

Blending character and comfort, the property has retained its authentic cottage charm, with a wealth of original features and cosy corners. The living room is a welcoming space to spend time together, centred around a striking stone inglenook fireplace with working fire, perfect for cooler evenings snuggled up watching the flames dance in the hearth. The quaint cottage kitchen is well-equipped with everything needed for enjoying a hearty breakfast around the kitchen table before a day of exploring. Upstairs, three spacious bedrooms are bright, airy and are all blessed with captivating countryside views. With a king-size master, one twin and one single, the property is well-suited for families or groups of friends wanting a relaxing break in the country and younger guests will love the selection of children's books perfect for that bedtime story. The pale green decor of the family bathroom evokes a sense of calm as you start the day in the stylish walk-in shower.

The stunning cottage garden is the real highlight of Priors Mead. In springtime, wisteria and pink bluebells begin to bloom, adding colour and sweet floral scents to an already wonderful space. The garden is mostly secluded, allowing you to enjoy privacy, whether reading a book in the summer house or enjoying a leisurely evening meal in the garden as the fields beyond are bathed in a warm glow from the setting sun. A small gate leads to an orchard where fruit can be picked straight from the trees in season, and rabbits are often seen hopping and darting through the long grass, their white tails bobbing behind them.
