About the host
Hosted by Tom
West Hollowcombe Farm began as a dream to exchange city life for a home surrounded by nature, wildlife and open space.
After many years living and working in London, we discovered this beautiful valley on Exmoor and immediately fell in love with its ancient woodland, river, rolling hills and extraordinary sense of peace. We knew it was somewhere special and decided to make it our family home.
Over the years, we have carefully restored the farm's traditional buildings, including Jasper and Smiddy, preserving their character while creating comfortable and welcoming places for guests to enjoy.
Today, we live here with our three children, our dog, chickens, sheep and horses. Sharing this remarkable corner of Exmoor with visitors has become one of the most rewarding parts of life at West Hollowcombe Farm, and we love seeing families and friends create lasting memories here together.
Why they chose this property
We purchased West Hollowcombe Farm because we wanted to create a different life for our family.
After years spent living and working in London, we dreamed of raising our children somewhere surrounded by countryside, wildlife and adventure. When we first arrived at West Hollowcombe, we were captivated by the ancient woodland, flowing river, dramatic Exmoor scenery and the overwhelming sense of tranquillity.
The traditional farm buildings, including what are now Jasper and Smiddy Cottages, offered an exciting opportunity to preserve part of Exmoor's heritage while creating special places for visitors to enjoy.
Today, West Hollowcombe Farm remains our family home, and we feel privileged to share it with guests from around the world. We hope that everyone who stays here experiences some of the same magic that first inspired us to make this extraordinary place our home.
What makes this property unique
Jasper and Smiddy offer a rare combination of flexibility, privacy and authentic Exmoor character.
Unlike a single large holiday cottage, this arrangement allows groups of up to eight guests to enjoy shared experiences while retaining the benefits of separate accommodation. Families travelling together particularly appreciate having independent living spaces, kitchens and outdoor areas while remaining just a short walk apart.
Guests enjoy access to 55 acres of private farmland and ancient woodland, riverside walks, wildlife watching opportunities and a children's play area. The location provides direct access to Exmoor's footpaths, bridleways and open moorland without needing to drive.
Horse owners are welcome, with stabling and grazing available by arrangement. Walkers, cyclists and nature lovers can explore some of the South West's finest landscapes directly from the doorstep.
The combination of two characterful cottages, beautiful countryside, abundant wildlife and the freedom of a private rural estate creates a holiday experience that is both memorable and difficult to find elsewhere.
