Offering cosy and inviting accommodation for up to four guests, this delightful retreat is ideally situated for walkers, hikers and wildlife enthusiasts keen to discover the heart of the Lake District. The cottage lies in a peaceful spot along the eastern fringe of Ambleside, a thriving Lakeland town which is home to a wealth of great places to eat and drink, with attractions and landmarks including The Bridge House, Armitt Museum, Ambleside Roman Fort and Stock Ghyll Force. A half-mile stroll will take you to the northern shore of Windermere where you can join a steamship cruise down the lake towards Wray Castle, Bowness and Lakeside. Coniston Water is to the south-west (8 miles), with Rydal Water and Grasmere are to the north (both within 3.5 miles). Other nearby places of interest including Brockhole on Windermere, Rydal Cave and Tarn Hows all within 6 miles.
A few steps lead up to the front garden and then through into the cottage where you will be greeted by the spacious, beautifully arranged open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The snug and inviting lounge is an ideal space for you all to unwind in, with a welcoming wood burner set in a stone inglenook, alongside ample comfortable seating and a Smart TV set against the window seat. Behind the lounge area, the sociable dining table is perfect for getting together for a family meal which you can prepare in the fully equipped shaker style kitchen. Going upstairs you will find two light and tastefully decorated bedrooms: a cheery king-size room and a lovely twin, each with a refreshing en-suite shower room.
Stepping outside, the delightful south-facing garden has a sweet lawn and outdoor furniture, providing a lovely spot for a quiet drink in the evening and for taking in the tranquil views of the surrounding fells. A private parking space is available for one car.
