Dog friendly Two Bedroom Cottage On The Banks of Afon Rheidol | Penffrwd-Fach

A fabulous home from home, Penffrwd-Fach is a is a dog friendly, spacious, two bedroom cottage on the banks of Afon Rheidiol and less than ten miles from Aberystwyth. With two bedrooms sleeping five, this beautiful property is ideal for a family or group of friends wishing to explore the stunning landscapes of the area and be at one with nature. The lovingly renovated barn conversion features a two storey extension accessed through a glass atrium. The merging of the traditional and modern styles, using natural materials including local stone and wood works beautifully, and for the environmentally conscious, this carbon neutral property features solar panels, a heat exchanger and electric vehicle charging station.

Entering the property's glazed atrium style hallway, a wood panelled wall to the rear separates the hallway from the main bathroom. Coat hooks hang on the panelled wall and a large church pew is positioned beneath. A limestone tiled floor with underfloor heating leads through to the master bedroom to the left and into the bathroom straight ahead. To the right, an opening leads through to the open plan living space via a half landing, on a beautiful wooden staircase. Down a few steps, the living space is bright and airy, comprising a kitchen diner with a lounge to one side, in a conservatory style space with glazing to three sides.

Kitchen units finished in a striking blue line the back wall, with a built in fridge freezer, dishwasher, double ovens at eye level and an electric hob. Additional storage is cleverly designed into the wall underneath the staircase. A traditional farmhouse table with five chairs takes centre stage, painted in a pale grey. The wonderfully bright lounge area features a brown leather sofa and armchair, with a Smart TV located in the corner of the room and a freestanding lamp for cosy evening lighting. With glazing to three aspects, the views of the surrounding hills from the lounge are stunning. The property's varying ceiling heights, some flat and some pitched, give the space's modern interior a striking and stylish feel. Heading up the stairs to the first floor of the modern extension of Penffrwd-Fach, a bedroom features both a double and single wooden framed bed. The beds sit alongside a wardrobe, two side chairs and a bedside cabinet. With bright white painted walls and a thick grey carpet, the spacious room features angled windows designed into pitch of the ceiling. Next to the bedroom, a cloakroom features a WC and basin.

Crossing the hallway and into the original barn building, the exterior stone walls of the building are visible and a sliding wooden door leads into the stunning master bedroom with a log burner. The full height room features a distinctive feature wall with chimney breast painted in a dark blue. A large double bed sits to one end, with a bedside cabinet to one side and large wooden wardrobe to the other. A large bright yellow rug located in front of the fireplace provides the setting for a cosy seating area, with a coffee table, leather sofa and side chair. Completing the layout, a chest of drawers and dressing table sit either side of the fireplace The room is the perfect space to relax and unwind, and also features an additional door leading outside. Completing the layout of the spacious two bedroom cottage on the banks of Afon Rheidiol, the family bathroom is a beautifully designed room. With the exposed stone walls of the barn to one end, and the remainder of the walls painted a bright white, light floods in from a high level glazed panel opening through to the atrium hallway. A freestanding roll top bath is located to one side, with a basin, WC and a wet room style shower cubicle with rain forest head. The vibrant blue tiles of the shower space and above the basin, contrast beautifully with the bright white of the walls and limestone tiled floor. Artwork throughout from local artists painter Karen Pierce, potter Lindy Martin and textile artist Mary Rendall.. A wonderfully designed space.
