About this property

2 Bed in Beaworthy (oc-77555)

Delightful 18th Century former Mill House stands in truly idyllic surroundings within the owner’s grounds on the banks of the River Torridge. Nestled at the end of a tree lined drive the Mill House is the ideal choice for a romantic escape or a family holiday. By arrangement visitors can fly fish for trout and salmon on the stretch of the river which runs along side the property. The Mill House sits on the edge of the charming village of Black Torrington with its popular local pub, serving local produce. In the next village of Sheepwash is a post office and small convenience store, with another excellent pub with a rod room and fishing records. The Mill House is conveniently located to explore the breathtaking North Devon and North Cornish coastline with its numerous beaches, Bucks Mill and Westward Ho! or across the boarder into Cornwall there is Bude offering surfing and night clubs. Other leisure facilities such as golf, horse riding and attractions including RHS Rosemoor, Dartington Crystal, the Eden project can be easily reached. Alternatively, just relax at the property In heart of the Devon countryside where there is an abundance of birds and kingfishers are often seen and occasionally deer, otters and badgers and owls .

Stepping into the property on the ground floor, here you will find a utility room with a washing machine and a separate WC. Take the staircase up to the first floor to the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with views out over the garden and river, this provides a comfortable place to relax after a day exploring with comfy seating, Smart TV and electric wood burner effect fire. The dining area seats four and the kitchen area is well-equipped with an electric oven and gas hob, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. The bedrooms both on the first floor, one being a four poster double bed and the other two singles (which can be made into a super-king-size on request) both with TVs . Completing the accommodation is a bathroom with shower over bath and WC.

Heading outside, there is a area where you can enjoy the hot tub; the area around is enclosed for children and dogs to play. Truly amazing on a clear evening under the stars whilst enjoying a glass of wine. The garden and orchard along the river banks is available for you to wander. There are resident chickens in a large enclosure which often supply fresh organic eggs, two beautiful native Fell ponies - Fern and Venus, part of a breeding programme to restore their numbers and sometimes sheep graze in our fields. Please take care with children and pets due to the river at the bottom of the garden. Double door fridge/freezer available in the garage. Space available for 2 cars and across the driveway is a traditional Devon longhouse .
