Located nearby is the train line, so, enjoy a day trip out on the train to the cathedral city of Exeter, which combines high street shopping with places of interest such as the Roman wall and the ancient cathedral. For those looking for the coast you have plenty to choose from, to the north you have the beautiful village of Croyde which offers a sandy beach and to the south you have the dramatic red cliffs of Sidmouth.
