About this property

The Old Bakery - sleeps 6 guests in 3 bedrooms

From authentic features to carefully chosen furnishings, every corner of The Old Bakery oozes character. The immaculate modern kitchen is set within the oldest part of the house, where exposed brickwork and original beams remain from the days when the bakery's ovens were fired up and villagers queued outside for their daily bread. Now a stylish dining table provides a place for an indulgent meal. The equally characterful living room features stunning wood panelling and arched doorways alongside an exceptional choice of furnishings and finishing touches, perfect for relaxing evenings in.

With two king-size bedrooms and a twin, the property is perfectly set up for families or groups, each beautifully appointed with tranquil decor and beautiful, high-quality linens. Once the bakery's grain store, the twin bedroom is the crowning glory of the property with soaring wood beams and the original window where grain would have been poured to the bakery below still intact.

Outside, a quiet garden offers space to relax on a summer's evening with a glass of wine or sparkling presse. Stroll down to the village pub for a delectable Sunday lunch or enjoy picturesque walks along the River Stour that meanders behind the property.

Ground Floor

Kitchen:
Step back in time to 1835 where the old bakery once resided. Today you'll find all mod-cons from oven and hob and fridge freezer, to toaster, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine, dishwasher and washing machine/dryer. A table seats six for meals.

Living Room:
This spacious, elegant room has been beautifully decorated and styled, with its original wood panelling a standout feature. Spend evenings relaxing on the sofas watching a movie or your favourite series on the smart TV or read a book in the lounge area overlooking the garden.

First Floor

Bedroom One:
The wonderful master bedroom has a beautiful king-size bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, dressing table and views of the garden.

Bedroom Two:
A charming room with king-size sleigh bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers.

Bedroom Three:
A spectacular twin room packed with history. Once the grain store, the room features high ceilings, exposed beams and the original window where grain would have been poured to the bakery below. Two twin beds can be extended to make small doubles, meaning the room is perfect for both children over 5 or two adults sharing. There is also a wardrobe with chest of drawers and dressing table.

Bathroom:
The beautiful family bathroom features a bath (shower over bath), WC and Basin.

Outside
Step out of the lounge's French doors to a charming, peaceful garden. Teens and their furry friends will love playing on the lawn while adults can relax on the terrace, enjoying an al fresco lunch at the outdoor dining table seating six. A private driveway has space for two cars and also has an EV charger that guests can use.

1 well-behaved dog is welcome for an additional fee of £47 per dog. This fee is not included in the rental price. Please advise us at the time of booking if you are bringing a dog and you will be sent a request for the additional fee.
The Old Bakery welcomes children over the age of 5.
Please do not block the neighbour's gate on the drive.
If you would like the two single beds in the twin room to be extended into two small doubles, please let us know when booking or 7 days prior to arrival.

The garden is enclosed but we cannot guarantee that curious dogs will not find their way through to the River Stour that winds it way along the back of the neighbouring gardens. You may wish to supervise a dog or any children while in the garden.
The property has CCTV and a ring doorbell covering the driveway and garden only.
A site manager that looks after the maintenance and housekeeping of the property may occasionally need to access an office and shed beyond the bottom of the garden fence, therefore will need access through the gate from the driveway and through the garden and is a requirement of the rental.

Simply wonderful!

What an absolute gem of a property! From the moment we arrived, we could see how much love and attention has gone into making The Old Bakery feel like a true home from home. It’s spacious, bright, beautifully clean and so thoughtfully designed throughout. The photos really don’t do it justice – it’s even more beautiful in person and has such a wonderful, warm feeling about it. Every detail seems to have been carefully considered, including a lovely welcome gift and we honestly didn’t want for anything during our stay. The location is fabulous – peaceful and quiet, yet perfectly placed for visiting Stratford-upon-Avon. We also loved looking into the history of The Old Bakery, which made staying there feel even more special. The beds deserve a mention of their own – they were beyond comfortable! We all slept incredibly well. I’ve stayed in many properties over the years, and this is genuinely one of the nicest I’ve ever stayed in. Beautifully designed, wonderfully comfortable and in such a lovely setting. If you’re considering booking The Old Bakery, don’t hesitate – just book it. You won’t be disappointed. We absolutely loved our stay and would happily return.
