Good to Know Before You Book The house is reached only by a rough track of about three quarters of a mile across the common. Any vehicle can manage it if driven slowly, and there are passing places along the way, so keep an eye ahead. Use the postcode for the Rising Sun Hotel, GL52 3PX, to reach the start of the track. All bedrooms are upstairs and there is no lift. In summer, sheep and cattle graze the common, so gates should be kept closed and any pets kept under control in the garden or on a lead. The garden is a work in progress, and younger children should be supervised on the garden and terrace at all times. Sound carries across the hill, so please keep noise to a minimum after midnight. There is no rubbish collection, so all rubbish needs to be taken to the bins at the entrance to the common. Check-in works as a self check-in when the host cannot be there to meet you, with full directions sent before arrival.
Extra charges Pets are welcome by pre-approval at an extra charge of £20 per pet per stay, up to a maximum of 3. Please include any pets when booking.
Booking policy Guests are required to pay a security deposit of £200 prior to their stay. This is fully refundable pending no damages or excess cleaning being required. This will be a pre-authorisation hold on the card taken at least 24 hours before you check in, and is automatically released within 3 days after check out.
Full payment is due 30 days before arrival and will be automatically charged to the card on file. If payment fails, it must be completed within 24 hours or the booking will be cancelled. Early payment is allowed; card fees up to 3 percent are non-refundable if cancelled.
Cancellation policy Full refund if cancelled 30 or more days before arrival. Fifty percent refund if cancelled fourteen to thirty days before arrival. No refund if cancelled within fourteen days of arrival.
