Oceanfront 2 bedroom condo- Pet Friendly- Mermaids Retreat

Oceanfront, first floor condo with private walkway to the beach. Our cozy condo offers 2 bedrooms/ 2 baths and has everything you will need for a perfect vacation getaway.
* 2 parking spaces are located in the gravel parking area.
*Pets are allowed with a pet fee- $125 non-refundable pet fee for one dog and a $200 non-refundable pet fee for two dogs.
(Must message me before booking to confirm it is okay you bring your pet)

Just steps to the beach through your own private walkway. The Mermaids Retreat is located approximately 15-20 walking distance to the pier and only about 5-10 minutes from the boardwalk. The condo features two bedrooms with one queen sized bed in the master bedroom and 2 twin sized beds in the second bedroom. Fully equipped kitchen and washer & dryer available. Private parking.

Other things to note:
Pet Policy: • Two pet maximum ($125 non-refundable pet fee for one dog, $200 non-refundable pet fee for two dogs) • Under 50lbs • Crate trained/crated when you are not with them • House trained • Please no pets on the furniture
*** If pets are allowed on furniture and pet hair is found all over furniture, you will not receive your security deposit back (security deposit is refundable, the pet fee is not). We want everyone to enjoy their vacation with their furry friend, but we do expect our guest to respect our property and rules. ****

Unfortunately I cannot give a 5 star rating. The condo itself was fine, location was good however the beach was not accessible from the condo. We were not aware of the project underway on the beach and the fact that there was an enormous pipe blocking beach access. I feel that this is something that the owner should have told us before booking. We had to walk a mile in either direction to gain access to the water. Not acceptable! I realize that the owner is in the rental business to make money but they should have given us the option to decline based on the condition of the beach.We will not return or recommend Carolina Beach to anyone.

Thank you for your feedback. I truly hate that the beach renourishment project impacted your experience. The large pipe you’re referring to is part of a Town of Carolina Beach beach renourishment project. Carolina Beach contracts this work about every five years to pump sand back onto the shoreline and protect our beach long-term. It’s imperative for preserving the coastline, especially in oceanfront communities like ours. Unfortunately, this is not something that is scheduled far in advance with specific placement details shared with homeowners. The pipes were laid just days before your arrival, and I truly had no notice they would be directly in front of the condo at that time. Since then, sand bridges have been built over the pipes to allow for easier access (which I believe may not have been in place yet during your stay). I completely understand that it was frustrating not having the normal direct access you expected, and I sincerely apologize for that inconvenience. That said, this temporary project will result in a significantly wider, more beautiful beach with much more room to walk and enjoy in the coming months. Beach renourishment is a short-term inconvenience for long-term preservation, and I truly hope you’ll consider returning to Carolina Beach in the future to experience the expanded shoreline once the project is complete.

We had a wonderful vacation with our family and two Yorkies! The Mermaid’s Retreat had everything we needed to feel right at home. The kitchen was well stocked with everything needed to meal prep, cook and clean. Check in/check out was a breeze. Walking distance to the boardwalk.

The condo was exactly as advertised. Nice balcony off of the living room and view of water. Very convenient location. We could walk to restaurants. My only concern was the lack of soap in either of the bathrooms.
