With the chill in the air, we snuggled in to play video games, board games, and build Lego sets. The kitchen became a center for crafting, playing cards and eating warm meals. We built a fire, had an Easter egg hunt and kicked around a soccer ball. As always, we had a blast enjoying the porch and the view of the pond! An excellent time was had by all! Thanks for the opportunity to stay and play, once again!

Annual getaway
We've used this host twice, but outgrew the farmhouse. I found this larger cabin, then was pleased to find that it was the same host. This space was huge for our growing family (14 of us from 10 months to 71 years). We happened to be there during a cold snap, so didn't use the generous outdoor space, other than to admire the beauty of the landscape in the snow. The pool table got a lot of use. We found everything we needed in the kitchen to prepare our meals. Other than missing the animals at the farmhouse, the consensus was that they liked this one better. This trip was our annual getaway during the long MLK weekend. It's hard to predict a year out, coordinating 4 households, but I suspect we'll be back.

Ever since they were kids, both Shane and Melissa spent a lot of time outdoor in the woods on family camping trips, hiking, canoeing and fishing. It was always their dream to do the same with their kids. In 2006, Shane and Melissa had their first child, a beautiful baby boy. They decided that Shane would quit teaching high school chemistry and stay at home to take care of their son. About the same time, Shane and Melissa purchased a 42 acre plot of land near Warsaw, Ohio. During the next three years, the Bocock Family grew with the addition of two daughters and they spent a lot of time hiking, fishing, picking berries, camping, relaxing and saving money. During this time, they also thought how nice it would be to build a cabin that Shane--while still staying home with the kids--could rent out, allowing others to enjoy the beauty of the property. With the state of the economy, the idea was both exciting and scary. However, in the spring of 2011, Shane and Melissa felt the time was right. They wanted to build something special that would add to the already unique property. The Woodbury Cabin was started in June of 2011 and finished by the end of October the same year. Within days of listing the cabin rental online, calls started coming in. By 2014, with all dates filling up yearly at the Woodbury Cabin, Shane and Melissa decided it was time to add another rental. They came across a farmhouse that bordered the Mohican Forest in early 2015. They immediately fell in love with it, bought it, and turned it into a nightly vacation rental called the Mohican Farmhouse. In 2017, The lodge at Babble Brook was purchased near Mohican State Park as the third secluded vacation rental with a private pond!

Why they chose this property

Once you arrive at the Lodge at Babble Brook, you will experience the country charm of this rural gem. With a private pond, barns and pastures, in the heart of Mohican Country, the Lodge at Babble Brook is a unique opportunity to experience the peace and quiet of country life while enjoying all the nearby attractions and activities!

What makes this property unique

There are so many favorites with the Lodge, it's hard to decide what to do when you get there. The 40ft covered front porch has rockers and a relaxing swing overlooking the pond. The pond always seems to sparkle in the sunlight. The great room is so open and tall and the giant stone fireplace and huge mantle is such a nice place to gather with family and friends. The loft is a comfy spot to sit and read. The kitchen is spacious and the bar makes it easy to lay out a "buffet."
