About this property

Relaxing Cabin with Hot Tub on 18 acres Next to Whiteface

Three miles from the Whiteface Mountain ski center, perched on an 18 acre wooded slope divided by a year-round peaceful mountain stream, Pine Hill Cabin is a beautifully rebuilt Adirondack cabin, with pine floors, and an old stone fireplace. Pine Hill Cabin has three bedrooms, 2 baths, a balcony with mountain views, a kitchen, washer-dryer and a 2-bay drive-in car port. Linens, cooking and eating utensils, Cable TV, cable modem for high speed internet access, and DVD, make Pine Hill Cabin a rustic and relaxing home away from home. Seasonal chills are kept out with a hot air furnace.

All you need to bring with you are clothes, food, ski gear, hiking gear or fishing poles. campfire near the barbecue in the back yard provides a great place for the family to gather in the evening, to review the days activities, have a family sing-along, or just to listen to the waters of the stream, while counting the stars in the clear Adirondack skies, and inhaling the fragrance of the pines which enclose the yard.

Serious hikers are within easy range of High Peaks Trails. The trail up Whiteface Mountain and Esther begins a 1/4 mile from the driveway. The Veterans Memorial "Highway", the beautiful 2-lane country road up the back of Whiteface Mountain, which Pine Hill cabin sits off of, features great views, a specially stocked trout pond for young kids, as well as America's very first theme park, "Santa's Workshop at the North Pole", a great place for kids to pet reindeer, enjoy kiddie rides, and meet Santa's elves.

Restaurants, stores and a sandy beach are all within walking distance of the cabin. The High Peaks towns of Wilmington, Jay and Lake Placid offer nightly summer activities for young and old alike, everything from plays, concerts and art exhibits to fireworks and blue-grass/ rock and country bands under the stars.

Pine Hill Cabin has a three night minimum stay. Formed by the damming of the West Branch of the Ausable River, at the bridge in Wilmington, Lake Everest has a public beach in Wilmington, within walking distance of Pine Hill Cabin. The Adirondack Wildlife Refuge is about a mile away, and has canoes and kayaks, as well as public fishing access on Lake Everest, The Park at Lake Everest provides a great place for younger kids who want to play in and around the water on a sandy bottom. At Lake Everest you can launch canoes and kayaks, fish for the famous Ausable River brown and rainbow trout, play volleyball, or just picnic under the lovely cedars that cluster around the shore. Lake Everest has rest rooms, barbecue pits, and country/ rock/ folk concerts every Thursday Evening in July and August.

House-trained, socialized dogs are welcome at Pine Hill Cabin. The Olympic attractions of lake Placid are 12 miles away through the Wilmington notch, one of America's most beautiful country roads.

Peaceful wilderness

The house was just as described. Perfect location close to trails and short drive the Lake Placid. The hot tub was a bonus after a day of hiking. The beds were comfy, the house was fully stocked with essentials. Will rent again.

Great location! Very comfortable. You could hear some music coming from the bar, hotel or nearby home at night but not enough to be bothersome. We were there in cooler temps so windows were shut in evening and couldn't hear a thing. The hot tub was not working which was a real bummer. We were looking forward to that after hikes during the day and it was one of the reasons we chose the cabin. The host was responsive to emails prior to the trip and gave perfect directions to the cabin. Such a beautiful area! It's a cozy cabin on the smaller side. We enjoyed our stay!

6/10 Okay

Nice location, plenty of room. Needs a little work to be worth the price.

I have to say we had a great time, the location was absolutely perfect for us to ride the 100K MTB race and take our boys fishing and enjoy the area. The house had plenty of room for our whole gang. For the price we paid, we thought it would be nice if the grass were cut and something were done about the ants that were always showing up around the house. That and perhaps some instructions for the hot tub would have helped us really feel like we got what we paid for.

Loved my stay here! It was a great way to relax in nature. The hot tub and firepit were great after a long day of hiking. Everything was nice and nicely decorated. Can't wait to come again!

Amazing Stay

I have to say that everything about the place was amazing and I couldn't have asked for anything better. Location was perfect (bar and ice cream walking distance). Straight shot to Lake Placid. Hot Tub was clean, grill fired up quickly, fire pit was used twice, and everyone enjoyed their stay! Definitely want to come back during the winter as well.

Cabin and surrounding property were very relaxing and the location was convenient for kayaking on the West Branch Ausable River and only 15 minutes from Lake Placid. Hot tub and fire pit were very enjoyable.

Christmas break away

The cabin has an amazing fireplace and trails out back. There is a stream right through the property that is lovely. The kitchen is well stocked save no wine glasses (two plastic ones only). The two queen beds have really bad mattresses- they are a rock hard foam I think that caves into the middle through the night so you have a bit of a struggle to get out. We really enjoyed our stay and brought two dogs.
