Location! Quaint 2 story Bungalow on tree-lined st. in an exclusive $1mm neighborhood set in private lush wooded garden. Downtown, NC State, PNC Arena, Cameron Village, UNC Rex Hospital, Museums, RTP, RDU airport, are all minutes away. Walk/bike to shopping, NC Art Museum, greenway trails, dining, fairgrounds, sporting events. 1/2 blk walk to shops/bars/cafes. 1 min to Whole Foods. Hardwoods, charm, wood burning fireplace & washer/dryer make for an enjoyable stay. Well behaved pets are welcome. Sleeps up to 14! (or 15 if you wanted to use a living room sofa)

The space
This is a nice, pet-friendly home with 4 traditional bedrooms (one of which is on its own private floor upstairs) plus a lower level bedroom with private garden access. Hardwood floors throughout first and second floors. Bathroom is on first floor where 3 bedrooms, kitchen, living room and dining room are located. Sleeps up to 17 people (16 in beds and 1 on a couch in living room).

Bedroom #1 is a beautiful Master with recently purchased queen bed overlooking the lush greenery. Sleeps up to 2.

Bedroom #2 with built-in dressers and a work desk has a recently purchased twin bed overlooking lush greenery of backyard. Sleeps up to 1

Bedroom #3 is another large bedroom and has a recently purchased full size bed overlooking the wooded garden. Sleeps up to 2.

Bedroom #4 on second level. This is a private second level and a HUGE bedroom (with extra ante-room space outside the bedroom at the foyer).
It has a recently purchased queen bed plus a twin bed. . Sleeps up to 3.

Lower Level/ Bedroom #5 -- Washer and dryer access only!

If you have more guests, we have a couch in the Living Room that can be used as a bed for an additional guest. There is also plenty of floor space for air mattresses (guest provided).

Quaint and fulfilled our purpose

The Lord was quick to respond and helpful with his email. The only issue was some lights blew during our stay but, everything else was good!

Disappointment - Save your Money

The description was greatly distorted. It has 3 levels and in a good location. I read the previous review and the management's explanation. Go with the Review it was correct. The bathroom leaked from the time we got there until we left. I contacted VRBO and the Management Company and no one was able to assist me. I had wet towels soaking up water every day. The basement was horrific - floor and ceiling tiles missing. Mold and dirt around the base boards of the basement. Dead bugs and dirt from the ceiling on the beds. Spiders, cob webs and water bugs in the basement. There was not private entrance leading to a garden. There was a dark and dirty room you had to go through to get to a outside door - i did not take a chance to see where it went. On the other side of the house a door connected to a cemented wall - not private entrance. The basement had 3 beds - (no trundle bed) all of which were under busted up ceiling tiles with falling dust and dirt. The 3rd floor (upstairs) had a improperly installed window a/c unit. The cool air went out the window and the bugs came in the window through holes in side panels holding the a/c in place in the window. So we could not sleep in the heat and insects flying. We could not sleep in the basement. When we arrived all 3 trash containers outside were full to the top with old trash. The advertisement said "sleeps 17" - do not believe that. This house has more than just quirks - it needs major repairs, cleaning and upkeep. There is not Microwave and only 1 Television in the whole entire house. A house that sleeps 17 really should have more than 1 television. There is no gated area to let your dog out to run. The backyard is full of mosquitoes & there is no fenced in are for pets or children to run or play. The main floor - pictured is the only correct depiction - it has hardwood floors and 3 bedrooms with comfortable beds. If you stay there - only plan to use the main floor - 3 bedrooms, be satisfied with 1 bathroom, no microwave and expect to have a wet bathroom floor your entire stay. Do not expect the Management company to return your calls - they emailed me with excuses but not solutions to my issues.

Online pictures are deceiving

DO NOT RENT THIS PROPERTY!!! This rental property is TERRIBLY kept! This adorable little cottage has soooo much potential, and the neighborhood is beautiful, BUT it lacks people who care about it. We checked in 2 hours past check in time which was 3:00 but the cleaners were running behind, so we were asked to come at 4:30. At 5pm, they were installing (3) 5,000 BTU window units because there was no central air. The refrigerator door was dirty, the ceilings had water spots (painted over), broken window blinds, a broken bed(also disassembled), there was ONE smoker detector disassembled in the attic, electrical outlet without a cover in the living room, a cable wire sticking out of the floor attached to nothing in the dining room, peeling paint on the window sills, broken glass in a bedroom window, significant holes in the side of the house and in the walls in the house, FULL garbage cans outside (one had a living creature that ran when opened), garbage in the yard, broken fencing, over grown brush in the driveway that we couldn’t pull all the way in. The list goes on. We were in the house for 3 hrs. Long enough to get hotel reservations. Property management refuses a refund and told me that I was “neet picking.” They offered to send a cleaning crew in for another cleaning and offered a 4th window unit for us to return. Mind you, the house was 85° after 3 of the ACs were running for 3 hrs. My safety issues were not acknowledged nor addressed. Since they “offered to fix our concerns” and we declined, a refund will not be issued. And VRBO said “sorry” because they attempted to reach the property manager and was unsuccessful. Just a terrible experience. Definitely a learning experience though. I have the REAL pictures of the property not what’s shown on this site. Please feel free to reach out if you’d like to see the REAL house.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

The home AC is broken while they have supplemented it with window units they cannot cool the property to any liveable temperature. There is black mold and mildew on and in the walls, ceiling, and other areas of the home. The dog run off the kitchen does not exist and is an overgrown pile of bushes and the fence is no longer there. The furniture in the home appears as if someone has urinated on them. The entire home was extremely dirty there was grim and filth all over the fridge. The "upstairs" bedroom is not someplace someone could live in during any month with a temperature above 60 because it would be too hot they would die. The basement was horrible and also not someplace anyone would reasonably live in. The ceiling tiles in the basement had extreme water damage the ones that were taken out were replaced by a sheet that also had water stains on it. The basement door also had no doorknob so anyone down there could not get out. I'm not sure if this was by design or not. The entire house had no lights except one lamp in the initial living room. One of the supposed beds is just a matress on the floor.

Air conditioner not working. Took property management a few hours to respond to text. Said someone would be by on Monday to look at unit. We had to buy fans. Vrbo tried calling management company and could not get a reply. A electrical outlet looked like it had burnt. Ceiling tile in basement coming down. Water on floor in front of washer and dryer. No fire extinguisher that we could find and only one smoke alarm. We ended up renting another property for rest of our stay.

CLEAN THIS HOUSE

The house was visibly cleaned but there is a permanent stench in the house. The very large ants and water bugs were horrible. The furniture in the front room appeared soiled. The A/C was not operational for a good portion of the evening but began working on and off. The shower did not express water, we all had to take bird baths. It is in a good neighborhood but it's the worst house in the neighborhood being a very old house. Some of the issue is because its an old house but it hasn't been cleaned out properly. There is still old stored junk in the attic and is actually pretty creepy. It was hot, damp and smelly. We left a day early and checked into a hotel. This property requires updates immediately and should not be rented again until that happens.

The house wasn’t clean, there was contruction going on, and there was no running water in the house.

The house was not clean, there was construction going, and the big thing was that there was no running water the house! We contacted the owner from 3 to 8 Pm and someone to fixe it showed up around 9:30PM and he did not solve the problem. The whole stay was a terrible experience. This property shouldn’t be listed on the list of houses to stay in for travelers

Great location and nice decor

The house has LOTS of room and is nicely laid out. Located within a few miles of just about anything you need or want to do. Excellent Property Manager, was a pleasure to work with.
