About this property
Beautiful Maine Views! Comfort of home! Exciting Adventures!
Perched high above the New Meadows salt water river, Juniper Ledge House provides the ideal place to get away! You can choose to watch the water, osprey, seagulls and sunsets from from the large deck, use the house for a quiet escape - or as a home base for outings and exploring nearby attractions. The house is close to everything - activities and services - movies, bowling, rope climbing, shopping, great restaurants, golf, beaches, networks of hiking trails, kayak and boat rentals, easy launch locations, and beautiful ocean scenery. All are just minutes away! There is a 1.5 mile hiking trail on the Juniper Woods property and access to parking, stairs down to a common dock, and waterfront (subject to tides) if you just want to stay right at home.
The Juniper Ledge House is ideal for one or two couples, or a couple with older children. Because there is a steep "cliff" in front of the house, we do not recommend this property for very little ones. Sorry, but pets are not allowed on this property and it is also a non-smoking property.
You certainly will not be roughing it if you choose this property, but if you think you need a really nice, comfortable and MAINE place to stay and a great chance to do lots of different and exciting things from there (or just to hunker down!) Juniper Ledge House is a great choice! The house is cooled and completely furnished with everything you will need for a wonderful week's stay! The Bathroom has a tub/shower, hair dryer, curling Iron The master bedroom has beautiful, high views, a comfortable queen bed and pocket french doors open through to a small sitting room. (The couch in this room can be converted as an additional sleeping space and when sliding doors are closed, there are full pull-drapes to provide privacy between these 2 rooms). The second master has a comfortable Sleep Number king bed. All bedroom windows have blackout curtains if you are a late sleeper. The full kitchen features a double oven, gas stove, microwave, dishwasher, trash compactor and refrigerator with door ice and water. We provide dishes, silverware and all the cooking utensils you will need. There is a choice of Drip Style and Keurig Style Coffee Maker and a coffee grinder for your use. Other amenities include Internet access with printer, Three tvs, Gas Fireplace (for rainy days!), Ironing Board and Iron. Outdoors there is a Covered Front Porch with chairs and a convenient recycling area. Overlooking the water is a huge deck with 2 umbrellas, a large outdoor dining table with cushioned seating and pub table. There are 6 comfortable wicker chairs for relaxing. You have a Gas Grill, Beach cooler, chairs, towels and beach umbrella for your use.
The owners will greet you upon arrival, give you a short orientation to the house and answer any questions you may have about the area. You will find a notebook filled with information and "things to do", notes from them and from other renters. We live on site in an apartment and walk out basement on the opposite side of the house during the summer.. The units are separated by an enclosed stairway and living spaces are on the opposite end of the house. Each of us have our own parking, living decks and separate entry areas. We honor your privacy completely! Although we're friendly, we never intrude but you can contact us if you need anything during the week.

This was one of the nicest VRBO’s we’ve ever rented. There was great communication with the owners and even lemon blueberry muffins and a bottle of wine on arrival.

Thank you for giving us feedback about Juniper Ledge House! We so enjoyed your stay with us and always welcome comments from our guests - both positive and constructive. It is a joy to know that others, besides us, appreciate this area and our home. Hope you will consider us if you should ever return to Maine!!
You can’t beat the morning’s and evenings on the deck. Checkin is a breeze, love the new furniture in the living room, and it’s so peaceful. The kitchen has EVERYTHING you could need!
This was our second stay at this property. It is an immaculate and comfortable space with the feel of an elegant country inn. The kitchen is light, spacious and well equipped. We especially enjoy the view of the river from the wrap around deck. Kerry and Steve are responsive and helpful hosts. We look forward to returning again soon.
Beautiful setting, very complete amenities, lovely hosts - magical memories.

Thanks so much for your nice review! Glad you enjoyed our October weather. Folks often think it would be snowing in Maine then...Hey, we are still golfing! Your week had beautiful color that lasts until mid October or beyond. Come again! Cheers! Kerry and Steve
My parents love to come to this property in their yearly visits. This is a very cosy home where verything is in excellent condition, and the views are amazing.
Everything was outstanding. The property and hosts both met and exceeded our expectations. Beautiful accomodations. We'll be back.

We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us! We want to make every guest happy and satisfied with their accommodations and have loved meeting folks from many different places in the world. (Many different US states and even Mexico and Denmark this summer already!) We have been fortunate to have just the best guests possible! Thank you for the review! See you soon!!
The hosts were wonderful, with a welcoming basket, treats, and wine. Also lots of suggestions for adventures. They were very friendly and available, but not intrusive. The home is beautifully decorated, immaculate and comfortable, exactly as pictured. The surround deck with comfy furniture and beautiful flowers would be perfect for entertaining. The deck was the perfect place to watch the water and even watch the local college athletes rowing boats with four rowers and a coxswain! This VRBO was all we hoped for and more!
This house has everything you need for a comfortable and peaceful get-away. We breakfasted every morning on the large deck overlooking the water, delighting in the sights and sounds of birds, trees, and small boats. The place is spotlessly clean and well appointed, with a fully stocked kitchen, multiple seating areas inside and out, a ceiling fan and A/C in the bedrooms and living room, and very comfortable beds. The hosts are top-notch, ready to respond to requests. We also loved the location, which made for a good starting point for day trips near and far. Highly recommended.
We had such a wonderful stay at this beautiful home! From the moment we arrived, it felt welcoming and comfortable—like a true home away from home. The deck was a favorite spot for us, offering a peaceful view that made it hard to leave. The house was thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed, and the attention to detail didn’t go unnoticed. Communication with the host was clear, friendly, and responsive throughout. We only wish we had a few more days to enjoy it all. Highly recommend!
This property is just as described. It is very well clean, well appointed, comfortable, quiet, and well heated and air conditioned, although at night we slept with windows open. The on-site hosts are kind and engaging. The view of Meadows River is peaceful, and the outdoor space is inviting and relaxing. Finally, you can't beat Kerry's Blueberry Muffins for the first morning!
The property is more lovely and spacious than it looks in pictures. The owners are very professional and the home is well-appointed. The beds, recliners and outdoor furniture is all very comfortable, and it's a great kitchen for cooking. We enjoyed watching the sunset on the back deck after a day of adventuring. I hope to stay here again. If you're thinking about renting this home, do it! You'll be happy you did.
This property went above and beyond our expectations, from the muffins waiting for us to the amazing view!
Great location - close to Freeport, Bath and Boothbay Harbor.

Thanks for sending a review! Our cleaning crew is consistently outstanding. We are so lucky to have them! We will pass this on. So glad you loved our location - we do too! Please come again! Kerry and Steve
Incredible house, view, and management of the property. We had personalized notes, the owners reached out to see if there was anything they could do to make our stay easier and more pleasant. Staying here was a very enjoyable experience.
The house is exactly as advertised. Very clean, cozy, beautifully decorated. The owners are super friendly, responsive and helpful. Highly recommended place in Bath.

It is difficult to express how wonderful this property is. Spotless, well appointed home, terrific serene location with water views and a fully equipped kitchen and all the comforts of home.
A perfect stay…..with plenty to see and do in mid-coast Maine. Don’t miss that moss trail!

Thank you so very much for your wonderful review! We are happy when our guests are happy! We feel so lucky to live here and love to share it with new friends. You are always welcome here! K and S
This is a beautiful home with a stunning view, where you can appreciate that is managed by the owners. The house feels like a property where people actually live instead of a full time rental.
We love it here, this is the second time we rent this home.

About the host
Hosted by Kerry or Steve Bailey
Both of us are educators and have had a long history of teaching, being principals, superintendents, consultants and working with state organizations. Kerry just retired in December. Steve still works with the Superintendents Association for Maine. We have 3 grown children and 3 (almost 4) grand children who just love spending time up here! We love to hike, play golf, travel and (of course) enjoy the antics of our new little family members. We are excited to share our home and our love for Maine with visitors to this area.
Why they chose this property
We chose this location and built our house on top of this ledge in 2003 because of the height of the lot and the views of the water. We had been living nearer Portland and were looking for a chance to live in a less populated area. We found jobs nearby and the rest is history. We loved the nearness of all the things to do - but the sense of peace that greeted us, once we arrived home. We do love it here and we have been so surprised by how many things there are to do and see in this area! Summers are fantastic!
What makes this property unique
West Bath is located right between 2 delightful little cities - 5 minutes from Brunswick and 5 minutes from Bath. Both hold their own charm and there is lots to enjoy and expore in each. Not only that, Harpswell, Popham Beach, Thomas Point Beach, Wiscasset, Boothbay Harbor, Damariscotta and any number of shoreline views and activities are right nearby and just ready to enjoy! Portland is a 40 minute drive and well worth a day trip. You can climb aboard the Casco Bay Ferry and visit some of the scenic islands of Casco Bay. Freeport (LL Beans) is just a 20 minute ride! You can take a trip to walk in the amazing Coastal Botanical Gardens in Boothbay. Enjoy the Summer Music Theater and/or explore Admiral Peary's museum, (both at Bowdoin College) and take a ferry to visit the explorer's house on Eagle Island. If you love the water, take one of the daysails or take a short cruise out in the bay. Don't miss music on the Bath Waterfront, Bluegrass festival at Thomas Point Beach (you can hear this from our deck!) and take a trip to watch the ships on Tall Ships day in Boothbay Harbor! Hop in your car and drive for 15 minutes to sit on their "working wharf" and enjoy mussels, a lobster roll, lobster or clams in Cundy's Harbor. After a busy day, you can leave all of that behind, kick back and truly relax on our comfortable deck.
