Returning Guests - Adventurous Stay

Historic property in the heart of Mountain City. We were returning guests. Resident ground hog was active some nights under the house doing his thing. Work is being performed to rid property of this non-paying tenant. On Saturday, flying ants or termites (unsure which) invaded the main bath, probably due to warmer weather. Owner stated that pest control company would be scheduled for the following week. We found a vacuum cleaner and Hoovered those buggers up.

Mountain City cabin

The cabin was cozy and easily accessible. Be aware that the 1 bedroom has a double bed with a very uncomfortable mattress (bring a memory foam if you have back/joint pain). The twin bed is located in the same bedroom and has a more comfortable mattress but is low to the floor. We loved the history of the cabin and the heating system is excellent! Kitchen and living room are spacious. No toaster.

Clean as a fiddle and in Town

What a lovely place to stay. The unit was very clean with warm heat and good layout. You are above and next to US-421, so there will be traffic noise. We are not use to traffic noise at night, and did not find this location to be an issue. The history of this house is wonderful (read story in guest book), and the location is convenient to all the Mountain City area has to offer. I would not hesitate to book this home in the future.

Mountain City

Property was as described and priced accordingly. You could hear traffic, however location was very convenient to everything we needed. Beds were somewhat uncomfortable. Nice big TV and WiFi worked just fine. Host information provided was very helpful. We are considering staying a month this Summer.

Sweet little place with a great view.

It was nice to have the comforts of home: living room, kitchen, laundry facilities, and a private but central location. Hosts were available and responsive when needed.

Owners provided history of the home and is beautifully decorated and clean. Close to everything you need. The owners were also very knowledgeable with resources in the area with the hurricane that came through. I’m glad that they had an opening because I had a reservation at a motel and was canceled and this home was reasonably priced and was in the area that I needed to be. Thank You Christine and Steve for all your help with resources it really helped.

Conveniently Located, Clean & Cozy

We had another great stay! This is close (walking distance) to several restaurants & town. Very clean & comfy (albeit, small) beds. Plenty of room for the dogs to run & play. There is a lot of road noise & a busy Burger King/convenient store next door and the dryer still sounds like it’s ready for takeoff, but the good (by far) exceeds those annoyances!

Rustic Home Away from Home

The property was lovely in its rustic style. Little issues than can just happen through usage. It’s very roomy. I had everything I needed. Good WiFi. Good streaming ability on the television. I would definitely use it again. The AC worked well. Nice appliances. The only thing I would change is taking a nightlight for the middle of the night bathroom visits.

When viewing the property from outside driving up, it is shocking. Looks like an abandoned cabin. That’s for tax assessment purposes. Inside is immaculate! Clean, everything you could possibly need from the kitchen to the bathroom furnished. A super place to stay. Spotlessly cleaned. Great view of the city yet close. I will always try to return.

Wonderful Rental

Wonderful, convenient location for visiting Mtn City. We were visiting family in the area. I had stayed here previously and would still recommend it today. My sister loved it. Roomy , had amenities you need - home away from home. I would recommend a toaster and a saucepan - I couldn’t find either. Neither created an issue but would have been handy. Well worth the price. Plan on staying here again. Thank you to the owners.

Cabin was conveniently located in town. We chose this cabin because it was located across the street from the doe mountain atv trails. Cabin was nice and cozy with a lot on amenities provided.
