About this property
Port Clyde Village House - Have a great summer! See you in 2026.
Beautifully updated, turn of the century 3 bedroom / 1 bathroom house. Formerly the Port Clyde School House.
Renovated a few years ago. New kitchen, new bathroom, all rooms painted, all new flooring, sanded, stained pine boards.
Warmth and charm fill the spaces.
Located in the Village of Port Clyde, this house is close to everything. Convenience to everything the peninsula has to offer. Three minute walk to the General Store, restaurants, galleries, kayak rentals, ice cream and the Monhegan ferry. Fifteen minute walk to the beautiful, sandy Drift Inn beach. The Marshall Point Lighthouse is a twenty minute scenic walk/ five minute bike ride up the road.
Rockland, Camden and other popular coastal towns are up the peninsula, about 35 minutes away. More fine restaurants, movie theaters and museums are located in these locales.
The front living room has a couches, chairs and new TV.
The Internet is free - 25 meg. 180 channels, plus Netflix, Showtime and Disney Channel.
The afternoon sun from the west fills the room with soft sunlight. Incredible stargazing at night.
Sunny and contemporary kitchen with dishwasher, stove, microwave and full size refrigerator. Eat in style with seating for all. All new cabinets. All new appliances. Includes all the conveniences.
The dining room is right off of the kitchen. The bathroom is on the first floor and includes a large shower. The bathroom is newly remodeled.
The bedrooms upstairs each have pine floors that were just refinished. The master bedroom with a queen size bed has ample storage. There is a full size washer and dryer located in the side room. The second moderately sized bedroom contains a queen size bed, along with a trundle twin bed. The third bedroom with two twin beds has the beautiful morning sun.
There is tandem parking for four vehicles. You may use the outside propane grill for cookouts. There is a also a fire pit for evening gatherings and s'mores.
We have 6 sit on top, unsinkable kayaks you can use. Also, there are 6 bikes.
Or bring your own boat and put it in at the harbor launch right down the street.
We have beach chairs, toys, swim tubes in our shed that we can share.
Stay for awhile, and let the memories last forever.

Why they chose this property
Charlie's grandparents were born in South Thomaston in the late 1890's. His parents owned a small cottage on Spruce Head Island while he was a young boy. " My parents, my brother and I would spend part of our (endless) summers in Maine. I always looked forward to going." He has spent every summer of his life coming DownEast. Most of the time was spent on the end of the peninsula at Port Clyde.
I met Nicole 29 years ago in Massachusetts and brought her to Port Clyde and the Marshall Point Lighthouse. She fell in love with the place (and me). I asked her to marry me on Radcliffe's Island the next summer. Our children have been with us in Port Clyde since they were born.
We have visited other parts of the country and other continents.
But there is no place like Port Clyde any where else in the world.
